Feeling a General Malaise
Jan. 28th, 2008 10:33 pmI get to go in early for the next three days because my coworker's on vacation. Can't fault her for that, I suppose -- we all need breaks -- but it still ticks me off a little. Especially after I came in this morning and found some minor chaos. (Would it KILL my boss to come back and tag the clothes he took in?!)
Dad's teaching me fiscial responsibility by occassionally having me pick up the bills around the house. I don't mind helping pay for living here, but I think it might have been easier just to raise my rent. *shrug* Not to mention the way he delivered the news was one of those lectures of repetitiveness he's so fond of. And he brought out the lie of "moving to Florida" again. Honestly, I've given up on that dream. I've heard that so many fricking times that I can't believe it anymore. We're never going to have enough money to move out of this shithole state.
My cousin's birthday was today -- she's six. Among the presents? A digital camera and a massage chair. Um, okay. . . Not bad gifts by any stretch of the imagination, no, but it's not what I think of when buying for a six-year-old.
At least Steam accounts are free. Portal and Psychonauts would put me back about 40 bucks. Of course, that's assuming I go for the Steam versions. I might troll eBay now that I have an account and see about getting physical versions. *wonders if Psychonauts has an amusing manual*
BTTF/Psychonauts crossover is giving me issues. A preliminary draft was 600 words, a full 500 over the limit. Should I do shortfic, I wonder, and leave the drabbles88 for something else? Hmmm
I'm gonna go watch silly Fred and maybe some BTTF on YouTube. I need some cheering up. *hates this rut she's fallen into*

Date: 2008-01-30 01:42 pm (UTC)Maybe I'll skip Portal. Sheesh! I can understand wanting to protect against piracy, but that seems just a TAD overboard.

Date: 2008-01-31 04:08 am (UTC)Hmmm, I'll think about it. That's kind of annoying in and of itself, that you can't make it go away fully. Reminds me of SecuROM from Bon Voyage. Software is confusing.

Date: 2008-01-29 05:20 am (UTC)You should save up for a few months and then run away to Florida. Rent is fairly cheap, particularly in Miami, if you live in the right areas...

Date: 2008-01-30 10:01 pm (UTC)...it'd upset me if it were my parents, anyway.
