Progress? Or a Tangent?

I'm finally getting some work done on "Temporalnauts," but I seem to be going on a slight tangent regarding Napoleon trivia. Darn you, Fred. :p

Well, Marty making the comment that Fred's too tall to be related to Napoleon. However, it appears that Napoleon was actually of relatively average height -- he just had huge bodyguards.

-TD: Yeah, after sleeping in all day.-
Hey, I was NOT getting up at 8:30! Fuck that shit. Though I probably should have gotten up when my watches went off. Ah well.
Things I have done today:
-->Made my monthly backup of my stories and such. Didn't want to put it off any longer, especially since my stupid computer froze up when I tried to log off last night. I hate this stupid thing.
-->Played Alice.

-HD: Yay! *pours lots of tea for everyone* How'd you manage?-
Honestly? No clue. I set her on fire with a jackbomb, then started running and sending croquet balls her way. More of them must have connected than I thought -- the cutscene of her sneezing actually took me by surprise. Now I just have to get through the water level. So far, I keep drowning, but I'm getting my "sea legs," as it were.
-WRM: Hey, you're past the first boss. That's still quite the accomplishment.-

-->Fiddled with Sims a bit. I tried deleting groups.cache, but the game didn't play. It got partway through the loading screen, then crashed. hmph. I recopied it from my old Sims folder, which is still on my desktop. I'm getting twitchy.
-RPD: So am I. Are you going to try uninstalling/reinstalling next?-
Probably. Though I'm just glad the monitor didn't start flashing again. That's always a plus.
-->Got annoyed with Trend Micro. For some reason, the shortcut on my desktop has changed itself to -- Alice. The text is the same, and clicking on it brings up Trend Micro, but WTF?
-OD: *Albert* That sounds a bit worrisome.-
Yeah, I know. I hope it doesn't interfere with me playing Alice. Come on, I just beat the Duchess. (And that reminds me -- I need to find out where the save files for that is. If I have to move computers again, I do NOT want to lose my progress!)
-VD2: Ahh, thinking of trading up again?-
The thought does pop up in these situations. Though I don't want Vista. Vista sounds vaguely evil. And all my friends are doing it -- with laptops, granted. Am I the only one who uses a desktop among you lot?
-TD: What would you want if you had your choice?-
Oh, I don't know. Be fun to get a black one and paint "ELB" on the side. :p Need a top-line video card, though. I'm SICK of having to upgrade those things.
-DW: *patpat* Well, there'll probably be time for that later. Right now, you should try and keep to your writing groove.-

Well~ the only laptops I've ever "owned" were the one my dad had gotten from work that my mother gained custody of after he died and my brother seemed to take and never return to my knowledge (which has XP), and the one Ed bought in Iraq (which does have Vista and I hate it with a passion...Vista, not the laptop).

Vista is oh-so-evil. But all the newest computers come with it now. Unless you can get an older OS from somewhere, you're kind of stuck.
