The FINAL boss fight! I just have to beat the FINAL boss fight, and I've beat Alice!
-VD: *startled* What, really? You got that far today?-
Yup! I can hardly believe it myself.
-RPD: I thought you were stopping after the Jabberwock fight. Since you expected to die so much.-
Actually, I only had to reload once. It's funny -- I've heard that battle touted everywhere as one of the toughest. I took him down in two blunderbuss shots. Was kind of disappointing.
-VD2: To be fair, you've got the game set on "easy."-
True -- I do have the advantage of my will bar filling back up on that level. Still, tad anticlimatic.
Oh, and did you know there's actually a cutscene at the beginning of the next level? Rain1024 left it out of his playthrough, so I was pleasantly surprised. Turns out Alice DOES have allies -- the white chess pieces! :D They're fighting some of the baddies on the castle walls when you enter the scene. I made my way into the castle, then decided on the spur of the moment, "You know, let's keep going! Let's see if I can beat this bugger!" I didn't quite make it, obviously. . . .
-M2: Getting your ass kicked in the last level?-
Yeah, unfortunately. I keep missing one certain jump between platforms -- not to mention there's all this shit I have to dodge. Well, nothing to do but keep at it. I want my cheesy happy ending.
-HD: Darn straight.-
Anyway, other than that, not much to report. Had morning shift at work (other coworker had to work at the other store). It was pretty slow, for the most part. I got two and a half pages on "There's Always Tomorrow," which was nice.
-OD: *approving* Spending the rest of the week on that?-
Yup, then next week I add the NonTrilogy project. Gotta keep on trucking with that.
-D: You still owe a DVD cut on "Dark Half."-
You actually want to comment on that?
-D: No, but I feel like I should.-
Heh. *patpats* Typing has been pretty nonexistent since I was playing Alice most of the afternoon, but I'm poking at "Comfortably Numb" right now.
-DW: You could also write down something in "Overly Plotted Bunnies." We've been getting a lot from your "Martin Isaac" universe lately.-
I know, I know. Dunno why it's been on my mind -- I guess it wants to be a real universe just that badly. "Martin Isaac" is what I call my "Doc adopted Marty" universe, based on what Marty's name is in said universe. You can see snippets of it here and here.
-TD: *frowns* I have to admit, reading those fics makes me feel a bit out of place.-
O.o?
-TD: Well, you seem to like a father/son or at least uncle/nephew dynamic, but -- my Marty and I are the same age. Not that I don't feel like he's something of a brother to me--
*patpat* No worries, TeenDoc. I didn't mean to make you feel excluded. It's just, canonically, you're the older one.
-VDM: *laugh* For us, I am, Miss "Didn't Change Our Birth Months."-
-HD: Really? That's neat!-
-VD: I think it's more of a case that she likes to think of us as acting like we're related. Brotherly fits into that defintion.-
Well, when you've got a friendship like the movies depict. . . .
All right, I ought to get some typing done. Later all.
