crossover_chickI can be pretty happy from a slow day at work that allowed me to get another two and a half pages done on "There's Always Tomorrow" and read lots of Discworld, but one stupid error message from my computer, and I'm down in the dumps.
-TD: That's it, I'm fixing this thing whether you like it or not.-
If only you could! I tried to do a Disk Cleanup -- completely normal thing, right? Right at the beginning, it gave me an error message about certain files needed for system stability being replaced with unrecognizable ones, and to "insert your now."
-OD: O.o? *tentacles cheep*-
I'm serious. Just a blank there. Clicking "more information" brought up a text box saying either I had the incorrect CD or the CD-ROM drive wasn't working. I eventually canceled it all out. And made back-up disks.
-OD: *tentacles nodnod* Probably for the best.-
-RPD: This would explain why I heard you muttering about "suing Best Buy" earlier.-
Well, my computer wasn't THIS fucked up before I brought it there! I know the damn thing's evil, but not like this!
-VD: Breathe, Victoria. It'll be all right.-

*smile* Oh, that's great. Poor Rincewind -- wants to be actively boring and just go home, and instead he's invading the Netherworld and getting sucked into the Octavo and meeting up with trolls. Not to mention Twoflower taught the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse BRIDGE. Damn it, Prachett's got early-onset Alzheimer's, Michael J. Fox has Parkinson's --support stem cell research, people!

Not really, though I'm working on a brief write-up of the Martin Isaac Universe for Overly Plotted Bunnies. Get it out of my system and all that.
-DW: Good. Oh, and that crackfic idea you had based on one of the old memes? The one where a version of us gets brainwashed to kill Marty? NO.-
Well, what did you expect with me browsing the "Madness Tropes" section of TV Tropes?
-MF: Stop putting us in creepy stuff!-
-HD: You may as well ask her to stop breathing, for all the good it'll do.-
-RPD: Just be thankful the "American McGee's Marty" bunnies have gone away.-
-MF: Yeah, but the "Silent Hill Valley" ones are creeping back in.-
Is it MY fault that that new modeling guy on BTTF.com has a Marty model that looks sorta like protagonist of Silent Hill 2?
Incidentally, played Alice tonight to help relieve my feelings.

I finally got in enough blasts with the Jabberwock Eye Staff and its rain of fiery death to kill that demon bitch! :D I beat it!

-WRM: Now what, though? Your Sims are still giving you trouble.-
Suppose I could start over on the next highest difficulty. Not right away, of course, feel way too much like repeating myself. . . .
Anyway, I got a plot to write out. Later.
