Yay for Nice Days

74 F today here, people! And they said it was going to be rainy and miserable half the day!
-VD: It's about time!-
Yeah, I know. Though tomorrow it's supposed to get rainy again. :( More motivation for me to vacuum, I suppose.
Got outside twice today -- walked up to the local CVS to pick up lunch (they have a Subway inside, you see), then up to our local minimall to hit the Toy Vault. I stopped by Waldenbooks first to see if there was anything I wanted there -- got myself a new Dilbert collection.
-VD2: Should you really be getting new books when you have old ones you have yet to finish?-
I know, I know, my poor neglected Discworld! My problem is I mainly want to read about Rincewind at the moment. Damn you, Pratchett, for making me like him so much. (Does he show up in "Equal Rites" at all? Might help me get back to reading.)
Anyway, after that, it was over to the Toy Vault -- and guess what? They had the latest set of Minimates! I planned to buy them from BTTF.com, but the lure of being able to play with them right away was too much to resist. So home they came with me. :D Besides, I can always cave and buy a flux capacitor from Stephen.
-TD: Surprised you haven't caved yet.-
It's 200+ dollars, and I'm still not sure if it lights up the correct color. *anal*
-TD: Fair enough there, I suppose. How are the minimates?-
Great! Eastwood-Marty's head was turned all the way around in the package, which puzzled me -- when I got him out, I found out that the head wasn't on! Oddly amusing.
-Martys: *rub necks worriedly*-
LoL, no worries -- the heads are supposed to pop off. He's all fixed up. And, of course, I have picspam:

Biff and Marty from the 2-Pac. LOOK at the detail on that Sports Almanac! It's amazing! It really looks like the real thing!

"Hey, butthead! Hand over that Almanac!"
"Never!"

Eastwood!Marty poses with Buford and Western!Doc. The pistol for Eastwood!Marty/Buford looks mostly like a darker Lego gun, but Doc's rifle looks pretty good.

"I'm gunning for you, runt!"
"Take your best shot, Buford!"
"I intend to!"

"Just try it, Tannen! If you want to shoot him, you'll have to go through me and my rifle of +1000 Awesomeness!"
"Hah! Take your best shot, blacksmith!
"Sheesh, Buford really is stupid."

"Uh -- hi. I'm Detention/Clueless Marty, and I don't know why I'm here."
He also has a pretty lousy paint job, I'm sad to say. I don't think even the Minimate people cared about him.

"Hold it, runt! Why are you in our box set?"
"AAAH! I don't know! I'm from the end of Part I/beginning of Part II! And I never actually got detention! Don't shoot!"

Here's a group picture of the eight Martys the minimates have given us, lined up from beginning to trilogy to end.

And here's some close-ups.

Eight Martys, and only three Docs. That seems patently unfair. Especially since there's no 1985 Doc. Poor 1985 Marty has no one to talk to! (Except himself)

We have four Tannens here -- three versions of Biff and Buford. Oddly enough, this makes me want Griff, just so all the generations will be represented. Who wants to help me bribe the toymakers?

Our leftover characters. Looks like George has found a better use for time travel than exploring the space-time continuum -- threesomes! *is promptly whacked upside the head by March Hare George*

Time for some head-popping madness. I noticed this while Eastwood!Marty's head was off, and decided it needed a picture. If you take off his serape, he's wearing his famous "bulletproof vest!" :D

That also inspired me to finally try and get 1955!Doc's head off so I could finally get the mind-reader head on. And after a lot of pulling, I finally did it! Behold, mind-reader Doc! :D

Finally, the new shelf of Minimates. They're all acting out little scenes, though it's hard to tell:
-->1955!Doc is reading 1985!Marty's mind
-->Lorraine is swooning over 1955!Marty
-->Dance!Marty is rocking out while George looks on in puzzlement and Dance!Lorraine tries to pull him away so they can make out
-->Clueless!Marty is being dragged to the future by 2015!Doc --->2015!Marty is hoverboarding while Old!Biff watches and wonders
-->1985A!Biff is yelling at 1985A!Marty for not being in Switzerland
-->Disguise!Marty i s running off with the Almanac, leaving Dance!Biff stunned
-->Buford and Eastwood!Marty trade insults while Doc stands by with his Rifle of +1000 Awesomeness
-OD: You really love those things, don't you?-
-DW: She's still got that "Irregular Future" comic idea.-
Yeah, just gotta learn how to manipulate the photos and such.
I also took my pin collection off my old, doesn't-fit-me-anymore striped hat and put it on my new Panama Jack hat and keys laynard:

The larger pins went on my hat, since there was no way I was fitting them on a laynard. There's my BTTFII license plate pin, my BTTF.com button, and two pins I picked up at the Necon I attended -- the "The past isn't dead. It isn't even past" one for it's rather BTTFy sentiment, the "All I want for Christmas is my two front fangs" because of my vampire love.

Here's my laynard, which has all of the smaller pins. Mostly Marvel-themed, as you can see. I have:
-->A tiny Mad Hatter pin
-->A Spidey Guitar
-->Spidey himself, with a web-splat
-->A BTTF pin with moveable DeLorean (it slides back and forth)
-->A DeLorean BTTF pin
-->A Terminator 2:3D pin that was a bobbly head, but fell apart and now has the pin on the head so the bottom bobbles
-->A Hulk pin
-->A Mastercard-sponsored Mummy: The Ride pin
-->A Venom pin
-->A painting-like Nightcrawler pin
And I just realized that there's supposed to be a WOLVERINE pin too that's gone missing, FUCK. My pins hate me.

The bottom part of my keychain. As you can see, I've got a lot going on there too. The laynard came with a little display pouch -- I've got a Universal ticket and a little plastic card from the BTTF screening in there. There's also my BTTF DeLorean-through Clock keychain (which actually has my keys), my Dracula, my bat (there's actually a bag stuffed in him, but I have yet to get it out), my Woody Woodpecker "Roller Coaster Chicken" keychain, and the two latest additions, my MIB nameplate keychain, and my Spidey Ride keychain. I jingle a lot when I walk.
Whew. All that picspam tired me out. Still, gotta see about writing. "From the Ashes Reborn" actually needs a bit of bulking up.
-HD: Does it?-
Yeah, I'm actually adding a chapter, so. . . . First, I'll go downstairs and see if Wolverine is there. Damn it. . . .
