Not Much To Say

Slept in until about 11:30, watched "The Dream Team" over lunch (yay movie), picked up a free ice cream cone at Friendly's (Mud Pie Crush -- I think the ice cream itself was coffee, but there was enough chocolate in it to be good), spent the rest of the afternoon chilling out and Rifting. Doc and Aubrey share depressing thoughts, then get inventy again. They are so cute together :D
-RPD: Good, because Rift!Doc needs his friends.-
Indeeden. They may end up outfitting Aubrey's sentient vehicle, the Skid, for time travel. It promises to be interesting.
-VD: What about fanfic? Hint hint.-
I know, I owe you a chapter up. I'll do that either later tonight or tomorrow, depends on how late I stay up. I also got out a rough draft of my latest Drabbles88, and I'm working now on -- say it with me -- "From the Ashes Reborn." Also fiddled a bit with "The Gift and the Curse" earlier, that's calling for an update.
-OD: *tentacles nodnod* We'll agree with that. Judging by your face, FF.net has some sporkworthy stuff up.-
Oy, it always has sporkworthy stuff up. Maybe I'll bring the sporkers out of retirement.
-D: Heh, I don't know if they'd appreciate that.-
Sucks to be them. I don't trap them in the fanfic theater often, they can put up with it when I do.

YouTubeing? Josh Way has the best short up today, I wouldn't mind rewatching it.
-VDM: Oh, the teeth one? That was great!-

Sure -- I liked it when we had one. However, since I know you, order two for everyone and experiment on the spares.

-HD: *grins* Ahh, the sweet sounds of humor.-
Well, Josh is good! He got a sweet gig actually helping write a script for RIFFTRAX. The MST3K PEOPLE.

-MF: Hell yeah!-
Anyway, yeah, think I'll go do that. Sorry this update is so short, but not much to say today.

Well, actually, one thing to say. If anybody on my friendslist wants to give me a hand and take on clockwork_doc's Marty, I'd be really grateful. I promise to explain everything I can about the universe to you if you need it. (Though you'd best be served by finding a copy of Changeling: The Lost itself. Don't worry about the supplements, I've only skimmed them.)

I just mentioned this little speech in my journal and I figured you'd like a preview. Tommy (the Tentacle, not AL's Tommy...boy that can get confusing) and Jules just mentioned how they still don't understand why Doc is feared by people and thought to be crazy...

AL seethed automatically. It was her natural reaction to the opinions of Hill Valley’s populace about Doc. “For the same reason Erik had to hide underground,” said AL bitterly. “Fear. The human race has this tendency to attack what it doesn’t understand and, frankly, I find it completely and totally uncalled for. Though you’d expect it in the time Erik lived in – the nineteenth century. But now? Jeez, just because someone’s a little eccentric...” She glanced in turn to all the Docs present. “Okay, a lot eccentric...doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be treated with respect. And who gives a crap if they have four sentient tentacles welded to their back or gears sticking out of various joints...no reason to treat them like dirt.”

“Have we mentioned how much we really, really like you?” the tentacles chorused in unison, winding around her in a hug.

“Constantly,” AL said with a grin. “And I never get tired of hearing it. But what I’m saying makes sense if you think about it. Really, Doctor – ” The four incarnations looked her way. “I’ve no idea why you like humans so much. Honestly. I love you to death, you know I do, yet that’s one part of you I never understood, linked or not...this fascination with Earth and the human race.”
