Parents gone until tomorrow night. What am I going to do?
-VD: Survey says. . . . Stay on the computer until midnight.-
Hey! Who'd you survey -- Sarah?
-S: John and Terminator agreed.-
-T: It is a logical conclusion based on your current actions.-
-.-# Well, I happen to have to go out. We're almost out of toothpaste. And maybe I'll drop by that bookstore down the street while I'm at it.
-D: I thought you were going to watch "The Mask".-
That too. BTW, I finished "The Doc Hunter." Complete version on FF.net.
-VD2: Speaking of your stories, what about your web site?-
I think I'm gonna go with 150m.com. I'm going to move all my completed stories there and just use FF.net to show off those "in progress." Which means I have to HTML up all my stories into a readable format. I think I'll look at Kristen and Tekva stories to see what size font to use.

Tanku. My big problem is that I just used WordPerfect to convert my files to HTML for FF.net. I'm not looking forward to editing them. *shiver*

I've done a lot of trial and error with HTML since I was 17, and first established a web page in the summer of 1996 -- primarily for BTTF and my stories -- and find that a combo of word processing HTML translations, combined with an HTML composer, works nicely. There's a nice shareware (read: free) piece of software out there I like, called PageSpinner, but it may be only available for Macs (?), which is my platform of choice/expertise. Generally when I get a story ready for the WWW, I save it in HTML (in AppleWorks, my WP program of choice), then open it in PageSpinner and do a whole "Find/Replace" thing on some aspects that are automatically converted. (Like I like an empty space between paragraphs on my online stories, since it's a cleaner read, and the program just doesn't do that unless I tell it to. I also add in any BLOCKQUOTES I need done, spiff up the chapter headings, etc.)

I've got it down to an art now, takes maybe 10 minutes to do. But, oh, God, when I first started putting my stories online, there was no such things as FF.net, Word Perfect and Microsoft Word (EVIL EVIL program) didn't have automatic HTML conversion, and I had to do it painstakingly by hand, line by line. AHHHHH! I do not miss those days at all!
