Not Much Happening
Apr. 16th, 2009 10:50 pmI've got some screenshots for Steve and Gary to make into icons, I've written a bit more on Simon's backstory memes, and I've spent some time poking about the Rift Wiki and looking at the alternate Rifts. Mostly because somebody posted in Rift Overflow explaining what their character would be like in a couple. I got intrigued and went searching. So far there's five on the Wiki, with the Morally Grey Verse having the most written about it.
Naturally, the idea of alternates of my characters intrigues me (never mind Clockwork is ALREADY majorly AU). So I poked around and came up with interpretations of my characters through the five alternate universes:
Dystopia Verse
-Doc popped through one of the randomly-opening Rifts in an unguarded area, sort of like he did in the normal Riftworld. He managed to escape capture and joined the resistance effort. His powers are the same as in BTR.
-Victor came through a guarded Rift, very unfortunately for him. The guys at the top decided they had no use for a shy, unassuming Victorian boy, and. . . . His powers were the same as in BTR, not that they did him any good.
Morally Grey Verse
Er -- since my boys are Wanderers, the whole angel/demon thing doesn't affect them quite the same. So in that world, they're pretty much the same as in BTR.
Opposite Verse
In keeping with the opposite theme of this world (the angels are now demons and vice versa), the boys have what is roughly the opposite of their BTR powers.
-Doc, instead of gaining weather control in exchange for almost all of his Fae powers, had his Fae magic strengthened exponentially. He's able to do utterly amazing things with machines and metal now, like breaking machines with mere glances or causing any nearby metal to respond to his will. (Since I'm not that mean, though, the effect of his memory being restored stays the same)
-Victor, instead of getting the "temporarily dying and becoming a ghost" effect, gained the ability to restore life to creatures that have recently died (like within a few hours). He can do plants, insects, and small animals easily. A person he can do, but it would leave him incapacitated for about a day. And like Martha, he'd only be able to do five people before his own heart gave out.
Shapeshifter Verse
-Doc, instead of his usual BTR powers, got transformed into a werewolf. He looks like a white Arctic wolf when he transforms -- though you'd recognize him immediately, since the gears and metal teeth transform with him.
-Victor becomes a shapeshifter too, but I haven't quite decided on his forms. Though I think it would be interesting to make him a bat for one of them.
WingVerse
-Doc -- if you think he would be anything OTHER than an Angel of Knowledge, you have another thing coming.
-Victor I see as either the twitchest Angel of Unnatural Death ever, or the absolute WORST Charun demon ever.
And that's my silliness for the night.

Date: 2009-04-19 06:53 am (UTC)She'll be fine. The injuries were superficial (It's not like she was disembowled or something). As for her mental state, well that kill got to her more than most. She's had peace for a little bit... so...
Well, she'll get over it.
