I appear to be drawing a bit of a blank on what to say here. Um -- Mom's bought a muffin tin, so now I get lots of mini muffins? She's got a low-fat recipe that uses bran cereal -- it's actually really good.
Also, surprise Linkara/Spoony crossover review over at That Guy With The Glasses! It's good, as most of these things are. :) Though I've got the weirdest feeling I've come in in the middle of a storyline. Might have to go poke around the Spoony Experiment and see what that's all about. I did find Spoony's commentary on the Triple Thread review of "Alone in the Dark." Apparently, the whole thing with NC not talking was on the unplanned side -- poor Doug got sick shortly before they flew Noah (Spoony) and Lewis (Linkara) in. Also, the sketch was supposed to end with an attack by Dr. Insano, but Spoony thought it was a bit too self-indulgent (and he didn't have a ready raygun), so instead they went with the Three Stooges theme. All good, silly fun.
Let's complete this cavalcade of randomness by updating the Victor/Alice Playlist. I've encountered a few more songs for them, so here goes:
Comedic:
“The Masochism Tango,” Tom Lehrer -- Although I hardly picture them having this type of relationship, I think it's an amusing take on what it COULD be. Probably make a very funny music video.
“Love Me Dead,” Ludo -- Similar reasoning as above; Victor/Alice taken in a more comedically disturbing direction. Plus there's the fact that the RPG version, DGVictor, can "drop dead" at will. . . .
“Pretty Girls,” Prozac (aka Simon and Milo) -- I think this song just sums up Victor's attitude about women perfectly. Plus I always imagine Alice beating the crap out of some monster during the chorus.
Angstful/Not Together:
“Thinking of You,” Katy Perry -- This song happened to inspire fic. The idea is, no matter how much they care about their other potential partners, they can't stop thinking about each other.
“Sally’s Song,” cover by Fiona Apple -- I imagine Alice singing this to herself as she walks away from the thoroughly-ruined rehearsal, back to the Van Dort house. It's very sad, honestly -- she obviously loves him, but is certain he'll never notice her.
“I Hate This Part,” The Pussycat Dolls -- This is probably the most depressing song of the lot, as it's a break-up song. This is what happens if Victor tries it with Victoria and Alice with another boyfriend -- in the end, they can't keep up the deception, and there's a lot of tears.
“Girl Next Door (Rock Version),” Saving Jane -- This is the "Alice complains" song: Victoria and Emily are these wonderful examples of femininity, and she's -- well, Alice. For the curious, the first section is about Emily, the second about Victoria.
“Where’s the Girl?” Scarlet Pimpernel -- Victor gets a chance to sing about Alice. I think the lyrics really sum up Alice and her personality perfectly. Unfortunately, it's a song about missing a lost love, so it gets put here.
“A Step Too Far,” from Aida -- I got to thinking about this one because of the music video. Freckles made it Victoria/Victor/Emily, but I thought it could work with Victoria and Emily sharing the first set of lyrics and Alice taking over the last bit. Love's complicated!
Do You Love Me Too?:
“Crush,” David Archuleta -- I imagine this as Victor trying to sort out his feelings for Alice, and wondering if it's at all possible she cares for him too.
“I Won’t Say I’m In Love,” Hercules -- This is half in the comedic section, honestly. Alice tries to deny her feelings for the betrothed Victor, only to get hounded by the Red Queen and the White Queen in the "muses" roles. XD
“What Would Happen (If We Kissed),” Meredith Brooks -- A newer addition, this just clicked in my mind recently. Victor and Alice start wondering more seriously what would happen if they acted on their feelings.
“I Want You,” Melissa Etheridge -- This one belongs more to the Victor/Alice of "Love Will Find A Way" than any of the others, mostly because of the way the song describes the couple meeting. It's kind of intense and dark, but I like it anyway. (Note -- I can't find this on YouTube, so no link -- sorry!)
Happy and Together:
“Halo,” Beyonce -- I just thought this was a sweet song. It's Alice to Victor, talking about the way he gets across all her defenses and manages to make her life complete.
“Love Will Find A Way,” The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride -- I don't remember how I stumbled across this, but the duet just made sense to me. It's specifically "Solicitor's Ward" Victor/Alice, in the garden of White Castle -- they're singing about how the rest of the world doesn't seem to want them to be together, but they love each other and they're going to find a way. Of course, given I stole the tile for the Cinder-Marty version of Victor/Alice, I guess it applies to them too.
“Kiss The Girl,” cover by Ashley Tisdale -- The Victor/Alice first date song. XD Victor's shy as hell -- you know it would take a lot of encouragement for him to kiss his beloved! (At first, at least.)
“Love Story (Rock Version),” Taylor Swift -- This one took me by the surprise -- I was listening to it one day and realized the lyrics really fit the storyline of "Love Will Find A Way." As a result, this is pretty much the Cinder-Marty version of Victor and Alice's theme song.
“1, 2, 3, 4,” Plain White T’s -- Okay, this one I just thought was sweet as hell. I can so picture Victor singing this to Alice about how glad he's found her.
“Gorecki,” Lamb -- Uh, let's not talk about how I first heard this as Suzie's death song. The lyrics just struck me as something Alice might say about finally having someone to love who loves her back.
“Head Over Feet,” Alanis Morissette -- I've been listening to a lot of Alanis lately, and this song sprung out at me. It's Alice singing about how Victor managed to turn her all around before she could even think of fighting back.
“Everything,” Alanis Morissette -- This is a new one, but damn I'm glad I found it. The whole bit about loving someone's good AND bad sides just screamed "Victor loving Alice" to me.
“Your Body’s A Wonderland,” John Mayer -- The Victor/Alice sex song! XD XD Yes, the main reason this is here is because it has Wonderland in the title. But it's a nice bouncy tune, so why not?
Victor and The Queen:
“Snow White Queen,” Evanescence -- Creepy-ass song. The utter possessiveness in the lyrics really reminded me of the Queen of Hearts. Plus it helps that Victor's naturally dead white.
“Haunted,” Evanescence -- Again, creepy-ass song that speaks of dysfunctional relationships. This one's more from Victor's perspective, how he's trying not to let the Queen take him over.
“Your Love Will Kill Me,” Notre Dame de Paris -- Okay, this one's a bit complicated. Basically, when I think about this song, I think about Victor having inadvertent flashbacks to being The King of Hearts. And since, in my world, the King of Hearts died saving the Queen. . . . Yeah, this is a dark song for the middle of "Solicitor's Ward."
Okay, that last bit definitely gave me something to talk about. Off for a snack.

And is it me or does Doug always lose his voice when he gets sick? It happened in The Good Son, he mentioned getting sick again in one of the site update video things and now this. Hm...
Still, I think sometimes he's at his best when he can't talk...but I do love his voice don't get me wrong. :D

LOL, "The Good Son" had epic signage, I'll admit. And I certainly liked "Alone in the Dark," though the Stephen Hawking voice was a bit hard to understand at times.
