I HATE STEAM VENTS

. . . I HATE STEAM VENTS ATTACHED TO WALLS.
-HD: Much better. Clarity is important! Except when it's not.-
-D: I'm assuming the context of this statement has to do with "American McGee's Alice."
Yeah. I've actually been breezing right through the game -- probably a side effect of multiple playthroughs, both watched and actually conducted. I'm already up to the maze sections. My rage comes from having to play Airborne Terror. I swear to God, it took me FOREVER to get past one spot! I was about ready to punch something, honestly!
-TD: What happened?-
The name of the level is that you float around on steam vents to get to your usual exit portal, occasionally fighting Boojums. There's this one section where you have to float along a series of vents, while face-shaped vents on the wall occasionally blow steam at you. You have to wait until they're done before moving on. There's two faces rather close together around a corner.
-VD: Ahhh. You went past the one too fast and got hit by the other?-
Honestly, I don't know WHAT was happening there. I'd get past the first face, then either I'd a) move forward too early and get blown away by the second, or b) not move until the second was done, ONLY TO GET HIT BY THE FIRST BLOWING STEAM AGAIN. Alice's death shrieks are probably burned into my brain at this point.
-RPD: I thought once you got past one face, that was it?-
Me too! I have no idea how she kept getting flung to the side! Eventually, I FINALLY managed to get past that bit, and made it through the rest of the level okay. Tomorrow I start one of the snark levels. Goodie. [/sarcasm]
Not much else to say, except that a bunch of my Nexus-going pups have gotten themselves interesting items/LOLs:
Clockwork got a Nightvision Lens
Marty got a can of Wall-Walking Watermelon soda
Alice got a Bracelet of Adaptation
Victor got Murlynd's Spoon
Steve and Gary got turned into puppies by a Bubble O'LOL
-VD2: *snork* PUPPIES?-
Yeah! :D I was hoping for humanization, of course, but this works fine for a laugh. They and Marty are the only ones to know what the machine gave them right now, though -- I'm working on an Inkwell post where Clockwork, DGVictor, and Alice all figure out theirs.
