Just one more day! I'm very excited. :D
-D: Well, who isn't on Christmas?-
-M: Christmas is awesome.-
Indeed! I've gotten to open a few presents early. My aunt and uncle gave me a new bathrobe, some new pajama pants (Frosty the Snowman-themed), and some new soft socks. And my Mom and Dad got me another set of Ghostbuster minimates! I already had the Peter/Egon/Dana/Louis (and Terror Dog) set, and now I also have the Ray/Winston/Gozer/Stay-Puft set! Damn, I really need some more shelf space so I can display all these guys.
-VD2: Perhaps it's time to cut down on your books a bit more ruthlessly.-
Yeah, I think I could probably ditch a good portion of my vampire collection. Don't read much of it anymore. Not that I'm sure that would help too much, but you never know. *shrug* I'll figure it out later.
Anyway, I owe you lot a final piece of The Tale's Christmas Special:
The Twelfth Thing of Christmas that’s such a pain to me:

Singing Christmas Carols
“Sheesh, everybody looks so somber.”
Marty looked around the square. There were a surprising number of people milling around, most of them not looking particularly cheerful. “I mean, it’s Christmas,” he continued, frowning at the tableau. “Isn’t that all about joy to the world, goodwill toward men? Happy stuff?”
“Well, it’s been a tough year for everyone,” Doc pointed out. “What with the Queen unleashing monsters upon the populace.”
“They said before we came they’d been troubled by monsters of all sorts – the snow golems were just the latest pests,” Alice added. “Perhaps no one in this town feels particularly merry.”
“Yeah, but even so. . . .” Marty looked around. “Doesn’t seem right.”
“It’s not like we can really do anything,” Jennifer said, though she was frowning too. “More than we already have. You and Alice already killed the snow golems.”
“I know. . . .” Marty sighed. Then, rather absentmindedly, he starting singing. “God rest ye, merry gentlemen/May nothing you dismay/Remember Christ our Savior/Was born upon this day/To save us all from Satan’s power/When we have gone astray/O tidings--
–of comfort and joy/Comfort and joy,” Victor’s voice suddenly joined in, causing Marty to stop briefly and look at him in surprise. Victor smiled at him, looking a bit embarrassed. Marty grinned back and took up the tune again with him. “O tidings of comfort and joy.
In Bethlehem, in Israel/This blessed babe was born,” Jennifer started next, the boys quickly harmonizing with her. “And laid within a manger/upon this blessed morn/The which His mother Mary/did nothing take in scorn--
O tidings of comfort and joy/Comfort and joy/O tidings of comfort and joy,” Doc joined in, starting to grin himself. “From God our Heavenly Father/An blessed angel came/And unto certain shepherds/brought tidings of the same--
How that in Bethlehem was born/The Son of God by name,” Alice finally broke in. The group grinned at her, then together raised their voices. “O tidings of comfort and joy/Comfort and joy/O tidings of comfort and joy!
They finished out the carol, voices mingling together cheerfully and melodiously. After the last chorus of “comfort and joy,” there was a sudden burst of applause. The group looked around to see the formerly-somber villagers gathered around, clapping and smiling. Marty beamed back and indicated to everybody to take a bow, which they did with some embarrassed chuckles. “That was lovely!” one young woman said.
“Do another!” a little girl cried, a sentiment quickly echoed by the rest of the villagers.
Marty looked at his friends. “You guys up for more?”
The others looked at each other, then grinned at him. “Always,” Jennifer nodded. “Jingle Bells next?”

-M2: Huh, caroling. Haven't done that in a while.-
-TTV: I've never done it at all. Mother considered it "common" to go out and do it. Though occasionally we sang a Christmas song at home.-
Aww. Anyway, this one I pretty much knew what I wanted to do from the start. It was just a matter of getting it settled. I chose "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" mostly because the tune had been stuck in my head for a while. (Though the version I know seems to be mixed with another carol -- the later verses came as a surprise to me. I always thought it went "star of wonder, star of light" in the middle.) The phrasing seems a bit awkward to me when everybody starts joining in, but I wasn't sure how to make it flow more smoothly. It's kind of tricky to do it in words -- I mean, I can hear what's happening in my head just fine. Getting it onto the printed page, however. . . . Well, I think this works all right. It's an upbeat ending to the series, and that's what matters. Especially since the next chapter of the main story is kind of Victor torture. It occurs to me I pick on him a LOT in "The Tale." Going crazy, being brought back to his hometown under less than ideal circumstances, having one of the angstier backstories of the group (along with Alice). . .
-TTV: *rolls eyes*-
-TD: It's okay, everybody gets picked on in their backstory. Except maybe for Marty.-
-VuM: Hey, not our fault our Tale counterpart just doesn't do angst.-
Oh, trust me, he will. He will.

On a final Christmassy note, I've done the Dear Santa LJ meme for all my RP journals. Go check them out if you're so inclined -- the list of everybody is in my profile. I especially recommend checking out Dee's, which is squickily funny. XD
-Docs: *facepalm* It's not, really.-
It is so!
