Birthday Cake!
Dec. 27th, 2009 09:42 pmI thought some of you might have an interest in seeing my birthday cake this year, so I took some pictures. Click on the thumbnails to get the full-size versions:

The full cake. Mom was trying to go for a vaguely Victorian look -- we're not sure if she succeeded. XD But I think all the swirls and stuff go nicely with the toppers.

The top of the cake. Victor's shorter than Emily because he doesn't have a dress with a long train to support him, and thus, had to be pushed down a little into the frosting. They're holding a sign stating birthday wishes.

Another view of the top. Victor and Emily are actually Hallmark Keepsake Christmas ornaments -- Mom was going to give them to me for Christmas, but then had the idea to use them as cake toppers.
The cake itself was really fricking good -- homemade chocolate with some chocolate ganache frosting on the lower levels. Om nom NOM. We took off Victor and Emily before we lit the candles, of course. I cleaned the frosting off them and put them back in their box for the moment. I'll probably end up sticking them with the McFarlane minifigs later.
I also got my final birthday present -- a $25 Borders gift card. Certainly can't complain about that! Gonna have to schedule a mall trip sooner or later so I can spend all these.
*pause* Did I mention that my other aunt gave me a $40 Newberry gift card for Christmas? If I didn't, I'm saying it now. *will probably spend it all on minimates she has no room for* *unless she gets lucky and spots an Alice figure/Corpse Bride thing there*
-WRM: You really think you'll find an Alice figure there?-
Actually, one of the times I went, they had the Jabberwock figure there. That gives me a vague sliver of hope.
-HD: Ooooo!-
Yeah. :)
Anyway, not much more to say. Thank you everyone who wished me a happy birthday. :)
