Great Success! Sort of!
Jan. 26th, 2010 10:49 pmWe have videos! This is Part I, with my Corpse Bride figures and non-BTTF minimates; and this is Part II, with all my BTTF stuff and my DVD collection. They're not really anything special, but I hope you enjoy them anyway. One note, though -- they came out REALLY dark. I mean, they were a little dark to begin with (the lighting in my room isn't that hot), but YouTube seems to have made them darker. So I might be taking pictures of some stuff that's really obscured, just so you can see it better. Have to figure out a way around that for any future videos I might do.
In other news, the Nostalgia Critic has updated extra times! Turns out the part 2 to Conan was updated last Friday, and there's a bonus "That Guy With The Glasses" review on a Ninja Turtles epic crossover movie. (Basically, it's 1987 Turtles, 2003 Turtles, and the original gritty comic turtles all teaming up due to dimensional teleportation.) The "End of Days" review is up too, but I'm saving that for tomorrow. Linkara's updated too, and he seems to be building up to a doozy in the Marvel universe. Great review, just for some of the faces he makes.
Also, auction news -- I've got a good feeling about the Van Dort minifigure set I've bid on. I don't think I'll be getting the Victor plushie, though, since I'm in a bidding war with someone, and I'm not sure I want to go above $50 for it. There's a point where it becomes a little ridiculous. Though, of course, you also have to take in that these plushies are pretty rare. . . . I REALLY came into the fandom too late.
Anyhoo, I'm in a bit of a comedy mood -- who wants Victor/Alice shortfic?
5. Dip – Bad Romance
“OW!”
“Oh, I’m so sorry! Are you all right?”
“Yes, yes, just a bump on the head. I suppose this makes up for me treading on your toes.”
“I thought that was ‘payback’ for me tripping and falling on you.”
“Well, we have to consider that I nearly knocked you over just a few minutes earlier.”
“That hardly counts, Alice. You didn’t succeed – I did. Besides, I opened this entire spectacle by – ah – you know. . . .”
“He-he – Victor, that doesn’t count as an injury!”
“Even to either of our dignities?”
“We have dignities?”
“Hey, is everything okay in here?”
“Oh, hello Simon. Yes, we’re fine. Victor just banged my head against this table by accident.”
“I’m sorry again. I’ve been so clumsy today. . . .”
“Honestly, we both have. It’s quite peculiar.”
“Uh-huh. Can I make a suggestion?”
“Pardon?”
“You guys might want to try practicing your new dance to something other than ‘The Masochism Tango.’”

*snork* Come on, it is a little funny. . . This is just something I whipped up quick for this prompt. I've sort of had the idea in my head ever since I heard The Masochism Tango -- it just seems to fit with the general theme on the song, doesn't it? "Dip" was the prompt that best fit it, so I stuck it in there. There was no real plan behind doing it as all dialogue -- if you're a little confused, Alice yells "OW" to start things off.
I did, however, struggle with the title. I was originally just going to name it after the song they were dancing to, but that bugged me a little. I felt it kind of ruined the punchline. But I wasn't sure what else I could use -- I'm trying to use song titles as at least the base to all the titles in this set. Then, one day at work, I happened to hear Lady Gaga's Bad Romance, and something clicked in my head. Accidentally injuring each other is pretty bad romance, right? ;p
-WRM: Except to anyone who takes "The Masochism Tango" as a genuine love song.-
Very true.
Okay, off to wander the web awhile before bed. Tomorrow we're off to the movies for Mom's birthday -- the new "Sherlock Holmes." Keep your fingers crossed it's good!
