Everglot Set Pictures!
Feb. 18th, 2010 10:27 pmI did say I had them in my previous entry. :p

Group shot of the figures. The Everglot set contains Maudeline, Finis, and Victoria Everglot (natch), and our villain, Barkis Bittern.

He of the huge chin and devil horns haircut. His feet were a bitch to wrestle into his stand. Incidentally, I think this is the only place where Barkis gets a figure. I haven't see any other depictions of him, from either McFarlane or Jun Planning.

Lady Maudeline Everglot. Like Pastor Galswells, her head comes off. This led to a briefly scary moment when I accidentally dropped Barkis on her while trying to get him into his stand, and bent the peg that serves as her neck. Luckily, it bent back into shape again pretty easily, so she's okay now.

Lord Finis Everglot. Finis is unusual in that, unlike most of the men, he doesn't have pegs in his feet to anchor him to his stand. Instead, he's got a separate piece that plugs into a hole in his back and a hole in the stand to anchor him. (The ladies, of course, don't need stands as they have no visible feet. Amusingly, this applies to Pastor Galswells and hisdress robes as well.) His watch is neat too -- instead of just being a bit molded onto the character, you can see the chain's a real chain -- and the watch actually comes out of his pocket! Though it doesn't open or anything like that.

Victoria Everglot, in her red dress. I find it interesting that, in the large-figure line, we have two Victors and two Emilys, but only one Victoria. In the minifigure line, however, we have one Victor and one Emily, but two Victorias. You think they would have released a Series 2 Victoria in her wedding gear for the larger figures. . . .

The auction came with "bonus parts," which arrived in a little Christmas-themed Ziploc baggie with the minifigs. I got four lamp posts from the Series 2 set. . . .

Four little piles of books that appear to be taken from a Series 1 large Victor (I'm pretty sure the first one came with books, anyway). . . .

And three drink trays, two of which have a bottle broken off. I never gave much of a shit about this stuff, but I suppose it's nice to have.

Everybody all set up on the lower shelf. As you can see, I had to rearrange some stuff.

To the left, we have parents and children getting acquainted. The second picture's so you can see more of Finis -- and you can sort of see his little bar there, holding him steady.

More to the right, we have what appears to be Pastor Galswells ordering around Barkis and Wedding!Victoria.

Tucked in behind and to the right are the zombie gentleman, Elder Gutknecht, and Scraps and Wiener Dog. You may notice I threw one of the spare things of books onto Gutknecht's thing -- it seemed right.

I also decided to put the drink trays to good use. I actually like that a couple of the bottles snapped off two -- that gives me more props for the figures to work with.

And finally, Hallmark Victor and Emily have been moved to the far right of the shelf, standing near Bonejangles. Of course, this begs a question: If I get them where the heck are the Land of the Dead figures going to go??
I also had an interesting revelation while getting these figures -- of all the characters, Victoria's the only one to undergo full and significant costume changes. We see her first in her underthings, then in her red dress, and finally in her wedding garb. Everyone else comes pre-dressed and never changes. The most are minor alterations, such as Victor's suit getting ripped and Emily temporarily discarding her veil. Now I'm wondering -- there were about 13, 14 puppets made for each of the lead three. How many were made of each costume variation? How many Wedding!Victorias to Normal!Victorias, for example, or Tidy!Victors to Disheveled!Victors? Curious fan is curious.
