Good and Bad Things
Oct. 11th, 2010 09:43 pmIt's been a slightly annoying day, but it's all balanced out by the good stuff, so I can't complain. First, there's been an
eurekasims update -- Allison is a lot more sympathetic to that dam dog than I am.
Secondly, I went off to the mall. No real complaints there -- good trip up, good trip back. I had fun wandering around and playing games at Dave & Busters. I also got a mini Oreo CheeseQuake Blizzard at the Dairy Queen -- Oreo pieces and cheesecake cubes. Om nom nom. I, naturally, purchase a few things:

Yes, that is a plush Tootsie Roll. I found it at Dave & Busters -- I won a bunch of tickets at the games, so I decided to see if there was anything in particular I wanted to redeem the points for. And I happened to spot what looked like a plush Tootsie Roll Pop. Further investigation revealed a whole bunch of plush candies. I declared this absurd, then dug out a Tootsie Roll and got it. :P I mean, how can you not want to own a plush Tootsie Roll? I also have a picture of VictorPlush holding it. I mean, he's as much of a sugar addict as his namesake. . . .

My Borders purchase was the next two Discworld books in the line up: Lords and Ladies and Men at Arms. I'm quite looking forward to them. :)
And finally, from Newbury Comics. . . .

Okay, so the picture's a little dark, but I do believe you can see it's the Minimate DeLorean! At last! Took them long enough, right?

Radiation Suit Marty comes with his JVC video camera and a front "mask" so he can have the complete radiation hood. See, we got our full Darth Vader from Planet Vulcan get up after all!

The DeLorean itself -- it's actually fairly big, enough to seat a minimate if you can get them in past the steering wheel. This was a bit of a pain in the ass, though -- I had to fight with the twist ties to get it out, and then putting all the stickers in. . . Yeah, the flux capacitor, the OUTATIME plate, all of those are stickers you have to put in yourself. And trust me, some of these things are TINY, and there's not a lot of room to maneuver in that car. My time circuits came out crooked. There's also a decal for the interior roof, but there's a big screw there, so. . . .

Still, it's nice to have. This is the pose I've got Radiation Marty in right now on the shelf. I might rearrange the minimates and my other figures this weekend -- they're due a dusting, at any rate.
Aside from that, I played some Alice today. Hard is FRUSTRATING. I'm up to the Duchess boss fight, and I am TERRIFIED. McGee, the first boss of the sequel HAD BETTER NOT BE ABLE TO TELEPORT.
On the plus side, I finally got the third lightbulb of my stupid lamp working again. My room is fully lit again! *shock, horror*
So, yeah. Bit of a weird day. Back to the status quo tomorrow, though. Gotta refine that mini essay for World Lit. . . .
