crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)

-D: Damn it, I thought we'd weaned you off that particular nickname.-
:p Anyway, it's been a very good Doc's birthday for me. Not only did I get Clockwork's party post up and catch 10:04 with the muses, I also updated the Ink-Sec-Sims version of Doc and got Clockwork out in the Nexus. :)
-RPD: Not bad!-
Yeah. Actual day-wise, I watched the Chris Lloyd segement of the "Looking Back To The Future" documentary, and all the ride stuff, along with some Doc clips on YouTube. I also learned that one of my classmates in Comp I is going as Marty McFly this Halloween. XD I also got myself cake -- chocolate tornado slice, meaning chocolate cake with chocolate chips all over it. Om nom nom. And it's a very homework-light weekend! Just some reading.
-M2: You're doing good.-
-TD: *joking* Any interesting revelations in Lords & Ladies to top it off?-
. . . Actually, it's been hinted that Mustrum Ridcully is Granny Weatherwaxes ex-boyfriend.
-TD: . . .What?-
I'm serious! The description's deliberately vague, but he mentioned something that sounds like the woman's famous stare! I'm suddenly almost frightened of them meeting.
-VD2: Now watch -- he'll do all that set-up, and suddenly it'll be Nanny Ogg Ridcully was dating.-
I am mentally prepared for that possibility, yes. But man, is this ever shaping up to be a humdinger of a book. (For the love of God, nobody spoil me.)
The only thing that's sort of bad about today is that I have no fanfic to give you. I was working on a drabbles88 based on [livejournal.com profile] mayhemmanaged06's idea about a magic-based BTTF, back in the "what powers would you give these characters" posts, but I haven't quite gotten it to work yet. And the other one, about the BTTF card game -- technically done, but rather depressing for today. Plus, it's about Verne.
-VD: Too bad you used up all the one sentence ficlets.-
Yeah, and everything else is Victor/Alice based these days.
-OD: Oh, come on, there must be something else you can work on.-
Your fic isn't quite postable yet.
-DW: There's nothing else?-
Well, I don't think you guys would appreciate me posting what I have of "I'll Make A Man Out of You!"
-D: . . . No, no we wouldn't.-
-HD: Thank God that's not done.-
It's humor fic. You're supposed to support that.
-HD: I support it when it's not actively humiliating me!-
Why do you support ANY of my humor fic then??
-WRM: Well, some of it does make fun of YOU too. . . .-
LOL, point.
-TD: What exactly is the problem with the drabbles88?-
Well -- here, let me show you:

“Come here! I’ll show you how it works!”
Marty followed Doc over to the strange covered metal cart. He still couldn’t quite believe this. His best friend and mentor had always been a bit of a strange guy (if completely brilliant), but – developing a spell that let you cross between times? And somehow putting it into this weird carriage that went without a horse? That was weird even for the Doc. If Marty hadn’t seen it work with his own two eyes, he would have thought Doc had inhaled a few too many fumes from one of his alchemical concoctions. “This is heavy,” he muttered.
Doc slid into the front seat of the strange “automated carriage.” “First, you turn the time circuits on,” he said, twisting a handle next to the seat. There was a hiss of steam, and a crackling sound from the strange typewriter-like arrangement in front of them. “This readout tells you where you’re going, this one tells you where you are, this one tells you where you were,” Doc explained, gesturing to each line of numbers in turn. “You enter your destination time on this keyboard. Say, you wanted to see the signing of the Declaration of Independence!” The scientist’s fingers flew over the keys. The numbers in the top readout clacked forward and backward until they showed 7-04-1776, 12:42 P.M. “Or witness the birth of Christ!” The readout changed to 12-25-0000, 6:24 A.M.

-D: That looks more steampunk than magic.-
It's supposed to be magitechy, with a steampunk bent. My main problem is, I have no idea how to magically handle the time circuits, and this is coming out way too close to the movie. My idea is that the flux capacitor exists to channel magical energy now, but I'm not sure how to get it to work. Man, and I've even got this great line for Marty: "Doc, this thing doesn't run on the blood of virgins, does it?"
-VD: The local equivalent of plutonium?-
Maybe. :p Anybody have any thoughts?

Okay, I'm off to read some more BTTF fic and chill. Tomorrow we go back to How To Train Your Dragon for a bit.
-VD2: Still want a Terrible Terror for the Inkwell?-
Think of a way for me to convince Alice and Lucy.
