Okay, some thoughts about Episode One of the TellTale BTTF Game:
-->Had to install it twice, but this seemed to be an issue with my DirectX and not the game itself. (Am really hoping this does not affect my Sims in any way)
-->A bit slow to load in spots, but that could just be Chester
-->A lot of people over on Telltale's forums are complaining about the puzzles being too easy. I have been wondering what game they were playing. Most of them ARE pretty easy to figure out, but a couple really left me stumped, even WITH looking up hints. (I stumbled across the solution to one of the last ones by accident)
-->Opening of the game: Really good! It's interesting to get a new perspective on the parking lot scene. Although my Martys thank Telltale for the "Doc's erased from existence" nightmare. . . .
-->Marty has posters of Frankenstein and Weird Science in his room these days -- and the photo from the end of Part III :)
-->Biff, get your hands off Doc's stuff or I will BREAK YOUR FINGERS
-->Marty's method of getting things away from Biff is amusing :D
-->Strickland has a sister, and she appears to be an extremely important character in the game!
-->The Martys say all is forgiven, Telltale, for revealing that "Gerald" Strickland was a crossdresser in his youth (seriously, make sure to check out the photos on Edna's wall).
-->On that note, it appears all the names from the first novelization are canon for this game -- Gerald Strickland and Arthur and Sylvia McFly. Arthur is also a reskin of George. While some may complain, I actually find this appropriate -- after all, technically Seamus was just a "reskin" of Marty. . . . Apparently the "clone kid" thing sort of runs in the family ;)
-->Jules and Verne are apparently teenagers and getting ready for college, at least according to Doc. Part of me kind of hopes we stumble across them
-->As for why the DeLorean's around -- apparently the lightning bolt in Part II duplicated it. Yes, this is SERIOUSLY what Telltale's going with.
-->Teen Doc (he is seriously referred to as such in-game) is hilarious.
-->His father, on the other hand. . . . I'm very sorry to say, Telltale apparently thinks MY characterization should be the correct one. Although this "Elias" happens to be a judge and is trying to get Emmett interested in law. Seriously.
-->The part where you're manufacturing rocket fuel? Gets a little CRAZY near the end. At least I managed to figure out his instructions after a few tries.
-->Oh God, the part where you finish up the rocket drill and Marty tells Emmett the truth (he tricked him into believing he was from the patent office)? You can really see how horrible Marty feels -- no matter what the time period, Emmett's his best friend. Fucking God, I wanted to give both of them a hug. . . .
-->ROCKET BIKE. I forgive Telltale everything for this hilarity.
-->As I mentioned, that last puzzle was tricky. Please note that you can get at the front window from BOTH sides of the car -- I didn't realize this until way, way late.
-->While they kept in the manure gag, it appears Telltale skipped the ET gag -- come on, guys, you had the pair riding a rocket-powered bike!
-->Marty's erased himself from existence again. Lovely. Episode II will deal with fixing this.
Overall, I have to say, I liked it. Mostly because I found it extremely funny in parts. There's so many little injokes and plain craziness and the expressions on the character's faces sometimes (particularly Teen Doc's). . . . I'm looking forward to Episode II. (Looking more forward to Episode III, but that's only because "Doc Horrible" has my attention in a big way.)
