Gesture At My Sims, Damn It
Dec. 28th, 2010 11:33 pm-Muses: ???-
The vacation locals. I've sent Holden and Emma Heterobach in Eureka to Twikki Island for a short vacation. They're soaking in the local color and such, which includes learning the local customs. They've gotten the hula dance, but the natives aren't gesturing at them. And I really haven't been monopolizing their time that much -- I try to leave gaps for such things to happen. Come on, Vacation Townies, both Holden and Emma want to learn "Hang Loose."
-RPD: Heh. What have they accomplished?
They've learned hula, as stated, ordered room service, eaten pineapple surprise, and went on a tour (parasailing, which netted them 400 simoleons). Holden has also managed to find something beachcombing (a conch shell) and made an offering to the monkey gods at the Ruins of Jumbok IV. Emma wants to learn the local massage, so I'll have to track down a table somewhere. One of them may also learn firedancing -- we'll see if they have time.
-M2: No update over at
eurekasims, though?-
I figured I'd wait until they got back. Seems to make the most sense that way.
Not much else happening -- Butterfly Boy caught the attention of a V over in
dear_mun, and I wrote some more on "Secundus." Yes, guess what my overwhelming obsession is, even in the face of AMC doing a "Can't Get Enough BTTF" marathon this week (all three movies back-to-back-to-back every night starting at six) and the new Telltale game.
-TD: Victor/Alice trumps all, hmm?-
Well, I DID just write them getting together. . . .
Only other thing of interest is that I'm working on a Victor playlist -- I've seen this other people do this for their characters, and I kind of want to do one for Butterfly Boy. (DGVictor and Alice already have the monster that is the Victor/Alice playlist, so he doesn't get a separate one.) So far I've only got about four songs -- though thinking about it, I should probably add his piano piece from the movie. And "Fireflies" by Owl City, I always think of him with that song. . . . Excuse me, I need to peruse my music collection.

Date: 2010-12-29 06:32 pm (UTC)Now watch, you'll think you'll be done and then suddenly you'll hear a song and BB Victor will be like, "Ooh! I want THAT one too!!"
At least on my end Betelgeuse has calmed down with the playlist making, but he's still claiming songs. And I keep thinking, "No, I'm NOT putting that on your playlist because it doesn't BELONG on there!"

Date: 2010-12-29 06:50 pm (UTC)Actually, so far it's been only me -- BB Victor's been oddly quiet about the whole thing. In sharp contrast to DG Victor and Alice, who still sort of go "Every romantic song ever is ours. Period." BB Victor's more like, "Er, a playlist? Shouldn't you do that for your other characters, who have been around far longer than me and probably deserve it more?" (I think he's worried about offending the other muses since he's the new favorite. Also he's too polite and shy for his own good sometimes.)

Date: 2010-12-29 07:08 pm (UTC)Aww, he needs to know he's loved too!! It's like, "It's OKAY. You are being given a playlist. RUN WITH IT!" xD Hmm Here I am, entomology-girl and I don't know many songs about butterflies he might like... besides "Butterfly" from DDR which is a little... too fast-paced and crazy to suit him I think. Then again, you never know with the quiet ones. >>;

Date: 2010-12-29 08:44 pm (UTC)LOL -- Victors in general have self esteem issues around here. TTV and DGV are better now (especially since they have girlfriends), but BBV is still basically a "very start of the movie" Victor (well, technically he's pre-, but you know what I mean) and thus still has a lot of the hangups. (There's no way in hell people are going to convince me Nell wasn't at least a little emotionally abusive. I mean, when Victor points out that he's never said a word to Victoria, her response is, "Well, at least we have THAT in our favor!" And later, the "What corpse would marry our Victor?" *has rage against this puppet*)
Never heard that -- might not fit him now, but considering he IS a latent mad scientist. . . .
