Finally worked it into an acceptable form, I feel:

82. Brown
Edna Brown hated Jennifer Parker. Most people wouldn’t find this too surprising – the daughter of policeman Daniel Parker Junior was a notorious scofflaw, with her punk rock clothing, love of graffiti, and tendency to break the “public displays of affection” law. It was only natural for the wife of Citizen Brown, the greatest campaigner for a better tomorrow, to hate her.
What most people would find surprising was the depth of this hate. Edna considered Jennifer one of the worst things that had ever happened to Hill Valley. And it wasn’t because of her tattered leggings, spray paint, or loose lips. No – it was because Jennifer had, somehow, caught the eye of one Martin Seamus McFly.
Edna couldn’t really be said to like any young people, and she’d never been fond of the McFly family in general (most of them were notorious slackers), but she’d seen great potential in Martin. President of the Junior Brown Brigade, Brown Cadet of the Month for three months straight, and winner of the Courthouse Challenge Deportment Award, Martin was neat, intelligent, and (most importantly) obedient. While most people seemed to struggle with following the many rules laid down for their own happiness and safety (the ingrates), Martin embraced them wholeheartedly. He’d never even seemed to want to put a foot out of line.
Of course, the main reason for that was probably his near hero-worship of First Citizen Brown. Edna wasn’t quite sure why the young man liked her husband so much, but he did. And Emmett had an odd fondness for him back, even though they’d never personally met. He appreciated the letters Martin sent to him (even if he never had time to answer them), and occasionally went a little easy on any McFlys found breaking the rules. Edna disapproved of this highly, but never openly objected. Having Emmett like the boy was a good thing, to be honest. She and Emmett had never had children – she couldn’t deal with the mess – but Edna was determined not to let the Brown legacy die with them. Martin had seemed a perfect successor.
And then Martin had met Jennifer, and things had gone downhill. He’d bought a guitar, started listening to rock music, and even once kissed her on the cheek! There was a brief, shining moment of hope when they broke up, but then things became even worse than before. Out of nowhere, all in the space of a few hours, Martin McFly was earning demerits left and right! And Jennifer was behind it all, Edna knew. It made her seethe with rage. What right had that hooligan to possibly ruin her chosen inheritor?
Well, now that she knew Citizen Plus worked, perhaps it was time to take care of the Parker girl. . . .

-Martys: *horrified silence*-
Yeah, so "Citizen Brown" inspires all the awful things in the world--
-M: That BITCH is not allowed to get her claws into Jennifer. It's bad enough what she's doing to Doc!-
Calm down, it's only a story!
-M2: Yeah, but the scary thing is -- I can TOTALLY see this as Telltale canon! And it is NOT GOOD!-
Never said it was! Anyway, yeah, this was inspired by three things:
a) my enduring hate for Edna Strickland and her creepy
b) Jennifer's punk rock style and how that clashes with Edna
c) my enduring desire to see Dork!Marty
I don't know WHY I'm so fixated on the idea of Citizen Marty hero-worshipping Citizen Brown, but it just makes sense to me. Everywhere we go in the game, he's described as a model citizen -- all that stuff about being President of the Junior Brown Brigade and suchlike is straight from the game. And he's got a full-ride scholarship to Strickland College to boot.
-VuM: *weakly* Not to mention the rubber band collection.-
*nodnod* He's obviously about as warped as one can get in that world. The idea that he does it all to be more like his idol rings true to me -- and proves that, no matter what, Doc and Marty's friendship will find a way to express itself. Unfortunately, it's being expressed in the most horrible way ever, but that's more Edna's fault than theirs. I also like the idea of Edna singling him out to groom as their eventual successor, and getting really pissed off when Jennifer starts showing him there's more to life than rubber bands. It makes her saying "I'll deal with your wayward daughter" when she catches Marty and Jennifer smooching all the more menacing, doesn't it?
-VDM: She is not allowed to brainwash Jennifer. Not in a million years.-
Relax, I'm almost certain Jennifer is gonna help save YOU from that fate. Of course, the jury's still out on what happens to Citizen Brown. . . .
-VM: That bitch better not have done anything to him.-
-RPD: It occurs to me that, if we DO have to fight Citizen Brown in Episode 4, Clockwork's going to go THROUGH THE ROOF.-
. . .Remind me not to tell him when the episode comes out.
Yeah, anyway, this got classified under "Brown" because it dealt with the succession issue, so to speak. (Come on, can you really see Edna as a mom?) Ironic how the fic doesn't really feature Doc at all. . . .
-D: That's just fine with me. The less time I spend with that woman, the better.-
Yeah. On a related note, the song We Are from the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack will now forever remind me of Edna. *would make a music video if she had the skillz*

Not too much else to report today -- I had two tests at school, but I managed to do well on both (well, I think I did well on math) and managed to catch an earlier bus home. I played a little Sims -- had a nice quiet day with Inkwell Secundus's Doc, then started on Wonderland Park in Steampunk Gulch. I did the chunk that functions as a hedge maze:

ImageFra.me
Admittedly, it's not THAT much of a maze, the main path to the bathrooms and barbecue area is pretty much an L, but it looks good, right?
-TTV: And it's probably a good idea not to confuse your Sims too much.-
This too.
-HD: What's going in the other sections?-
There's gonna be a pool of tears, and a fungiferious forest -- though I'm gonna have to download some stuff for that bit. Also Looking-Glass house for games of chess and cards.
-WRM: Sounds fun!-
I hope so, anyway.

And I found this awesome website focusing on 1876 Victorians, so I'm very happy. I has info for stories!
-DW: *amused* Why don't you finish the ones you have first?-
This is a point. Let me get on that. . . .
