Thoughts on a "Maskerade"

crossover_chickJust finished book 18 of the Discworld. Another one I really liked -- it was good to see the Lancre witches again, causing trouble. And I loved the goofiness related to all things opera. :p And it did keep me guessing a bit on whether or not I was right about the identity of the Ghost. Also, Walter love -- I think I officially have a thing for skinny, pale men with nervous conditions.
-TTV: Rather, you have a thing for anyone you can imagine with my face.-
That's probably more like it, yeah.
I'd always guessed there were two Ghosts (I kept mentally yelling at Agnes to figure it out), but I WAS wondering if I was correct in thinking Salzella was one. Andre had his moments. But Salzella's death scene -- hilarious. Hell, the entire climax was made of win and funny, more or less.
I did feel a bit bad for Agnes, though -- I know she had to go back and be a witch, it was kind of in her blood, but Phantom!Walter and the others could have been slightly nicer about it. (Though TV Tropes has a Wild Mass Guessing idea that Walter was deliberately shooing Agnes away because he knew she could never be truly happy at the Opera House. I find myself mentally writing fanfic based on this concept where they have a gentler parting). And while I'm glad Walter got better, I have to admit, I'll miss gawky, clumsy, nervous Walter. And I wish it hadn't come at the expense of those AMAZING roses. *makes note to have Lorina invent those in the Secundus-verse*
So yeah, another good one by Terry. Next up is Feet of Clay -- hi Vimes! :D I love him. Not as much as I love the University crew, but there is much love for him and Sybil and the rest. :)

Hey, I don't usually like the bad guys. And the Guild of Fools -- you know, visiting that in Men at Arms really drives home what a horrible place it was for Verence II. *wants to give the king ALL the hugs. And burn his jester costume for him. No, she does not care if Magrat likes it*
-M: I swear, you've got a crush on every Discworld guy you come across.-
-TTV: No, just the ones who remind her of me.-
Or Doc! That's Ponder, you know -- a young Doc! Think about what he does and tell me that's not true.
-VD2: And the REAL reason she likes these books comes into focus.-
Oh hush, it's not all about putting familiar faces on the characters I like the most. I do actually like the people for themselves.
-J: And if you can make them look hot, so much the better?-
