Alice Thoughts, Part Two!

Went for another round, so here's some thoughts on the Mysterious East!
-->The Mysterious East is PREEETTY. :D Symbols in the sky, pretty china pieces, mahjong tiles -- life is good.
-->Wandering around the opening area, collecting teeth and bottles, dying in the water a lot. . .
-->Keeping an eye out for secret areas -- keyhole doors all over the place.
-->Also, a lot of floating to be done in this world. Fortunately I was always good at Airborne Terror. (Note to American McGee -- this is not a plea for you to reintroduce Boojums.)
-->The deeper you get into the area, the cloudier the sky gets. Not a good sign.
-->Fires, blood, origami ants impaled on things. . . :(
-->Samurai Wasps! I hate wasps, so it is a pleasure to kill you! It is also a pleasure to find that a teapot cannon shot at close range can take one of you out in one hit.
-->It is not a pleasure for you to glitch on me and trap me in the area. Fortunately, I'd read up on this and heard there was a fairly easy fix -- restart at the last checkpoint. And even more fortunately, the last checkpoint was right when I started fighting the bugs. Reload, and THERE'S my missing Wasp! Here, have some tea. *boom*
-->Get out of the glitched area, continue on my way. Fight some more wasps, make sure everyone's made it to the party so more reloads are not necessary. . .
-->I hear oinking! And I see a picnic basket! Where are you where are you where are you. . .Seriously, where is this pig snout? I hear it loudest by the river's edge, but I don't see it! Is it under my feet on the ledge? Is it over here? Is it --
IT WAS IN THE SHADOWS OVER MY HEAD. Clever snout.
-->Visit the temple of the Origami Ants, hear them praise Alice, figure out a pressure pad puzzle to get a memory (the damn elevator was BEHIND me).
-->Oh for -- another sliding blocks puzzle? Okay, let me go fetch all your blocks, old origami ant. . . .
-->Killed the wasp, got that other pressure pad puzzle sorted, now that should be -- hang on, we're still missing a block? But where the hell -- oh, wait, no, I see it! Or, rather, where it's hidden. (And at least you don't whine at me every time I fetch a block. Screw you, Oysterettes.)
-->Puzzle is fortunately easy. I get the feeling these things would be more messed up if I was on a higher difficulty. As I sort of suck at them, the current level of difficulty is fine with me.
-->Also find another memory from Dr. Wilson, saying that Alice has a "hero complex" -- she's compelled to help others because she can't help herself. This touches me in an odd way. :)
-->Meet up with an elder Origami Ant, who lets me into the big old temple thing, where there's a pretty painting -- oh, hey, Interact? Hmm. . .
-->It's the 2-D scroll Alice minigame! A very pretty little minigame, though it takes me a moment to get used to the controls (W & S don't do anything here, and I'm used to using them). I figure it out eventually, though -- and even get a peach for my efforts. Nom.
-->Saw it was coming up to 11:00, so I exited right after getting through the minigame. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what else the East has in store for us.
Now, to go get
mslucysleeches's
charloft post done.
