Sims Vacation Update Of Possible Doom
Mar. 3rd, 2012 12:50 amNow that Imageframe seems to be cooperating for a moment (sort of), how about I show you the massive picspam that is EVL and Felicia's honeymoon trip to Takemizu Village?
Sunday Before Leaving

Fairly typical morning for this pair -- Felicia making plates, EVL having some breakfast.

A lovey-dovey moment after they get their garden settled before leaving. They were all over each other during the honeymoon (which, really, only makes sense)

And then -- they're off! To fun and sun and all that good stuff!
Vacation Day 1

This is their hotel, the Steaming Dragon. It's the cheapest one in the Village. That's their suit in the back, next to the stairs. Nice ground floor room.

Once they were checked in, they headed out to see the sights. This is the Immortal Zen Garden -- EVL had a want to rake a Zen garden, though he didn't get a chance here. (Damn vacation townies.) But Felicia got something infinitely more valuable. . . .

A chance to talk with the Ninja! I did not expect this guy to be on the very first community lot I visited!

Felicia answers his riddle correctly, and gains secret knowledge of. . .

The ninja-style teleport!
"But Vic," I hear you say, "she's a witch. She has a teleport."
Yes -- but now she has one that doesn't suck her alignment down to Neutral. I'm kind of hoping I can get her back up to Infallibly Good so she can make another Throne or two to give to the kids. And I mentioned before I want her to keep Benemoodus Populous for the store.

After achieving such a feat, what could be better than a warm cup of tea with your new hubby?

EVL's not satisfied by just tea, though -- he has to try the chirashi. My quest for vacation mementos demands it!

Wonder what the tourist in the background thinks of EVL loudly proclaiming "Congratulations on having your first woo-hoo with me!" to Felicia.

One of the pictures the Sims themselves took -- I want EVL and Felicia to order a honeymoon album later while they're at home.

A Tai Chi crowd starts up, and I have Felicia and EVL promptly join. This will be important later in dealing with a certain Wise Old Man. . .

Back at the hotel, the two newlyweds take advantage of the enhanced skill-building properties of the Far East location (in fall no less) to build up a little Body skill. Yoga's at least semi-appropriate for this place, right?

They also order room service -- one of the custom dishes I have, Teriyaki Chicken, showed up, so how the hell could I resist ordering it? :p

And then. . .well, it IS their honeymoon.
Vacation Day 2

A slightly better shot of Felicia's new teleport. I have to say, it's as handy as it is cool-looking -- it's a little faster than Magivestium. EVL will be sticking with that, though, since it gets him Magic skill, and he needs that.

No time for poofing around the hotel, though -- it's time to make use of EVL's secret lot map! Here's the Pagoda in the Shadows, in the nighttime.

Before working to get the Wise Old Man's favor, I have EVL fulfill his want from before and rake the guy's Zen garden. That's worth a dragon legend scroll, right?

This is where having the Prima Guide comes in handy. I know the secrets to getting the legend with minimal socializing. First, serve the guy some tea while indulging in a little conversation. . .

Then bust out the Tai Chi! Both EVL and Felicia are clumsy noobs at the moment, but the Old Man apparently feels the effort is enough.

The Dragon Legend! I'm -- not sure what the storyline is, but it looks very pretty, doesn't it? After he tells them the legend and gifts them with their scrolls, he poofs out of existence. Perhaps to meet the Ninja for coffee.

Apparently gaining some major vacation mementos makes EVL feel romantic.

With nothing left to do on the secret lot, EVL and Felicia depart for Lucky Shrine Park. What gifts will the shrine bestow on them?

. . .Nothing. Neither Felicia's nor EVL's toss wins them any rewards. Damn it. On the plus side, it appears you don't need to get a blessing (or a curse) to get the memento.

They stop by the food stand, Felicia taking her turn to try chirashi, and -- hey, it's raining! This won't do at all.

Thank you, Felicia.

Felicia gets a little souvenir pagoda thanks to a want to buy one. I'm frankly shocked she could get one, because there was some idiot local who WOULDN'T. STOP. BROWSING. *facepalm*

A few minutes spared for a quick game of mah-jong, and then it's off to the next lot!

Behold the Hot Springs! Where EVL will learn the fabled acupressure --
Wait. The want rolled out of his panel.
Damn it, I don't want to drop the $500 for it if you don't really want it. Now what?

Tai Chi, apparently. They actually end up doing this a LOT. Whether it's because they were on vacation or not, I can't say.

Back at the hotel, their aspirations are starting to lag, so I have them slow dance in the lobby sitting room.

WIZARD LIGHTNING BAAATTTLE
No, they're just casting some spells to get their needs up. And freaking out everyone while they're at it. :p

Not much else to say about Day 2 -- except that would you believe I had to have Felicia INFLUENCE the Housekeeper into doing her goddamn job? WORST HELP EVER.
Vacation Day 3

This is the day that EVL and Felicia start bothering the locals and other tourists to take pictures of them in goofy poses. I really just wanted a shot of them together -- and then, I found out that this interaction is never rejected, so I ran with it.

This is actually a snapshot that came out "wrong" according to the game, but I actually sort of like the bad focus. It gives it an ethereal look.

You never know who you'll meet abroad. EVL had a want to talk about one of his hobbies, and to my surprise and delight this girl turned out to be a fellow gearhead.

Time to earn another memento and head out on a tour! This one's the Bamboo Forest tour -- unfortunately, I chose wrong on the chance card, and they came back with their fun needs severely depleted. Boo.

Good thing Sims are easily amused.

To my surprise, the pair actually have another full day left -- for some reason I thought day 3 was their "leave early to go home" day. So I send them back to the Hot Springs to fill up on noodles. EVL is apparently not impressed with Felicia's burps.

A radio provides EVL and Felicia with another slow dance opportunity. . .and some random townie with a "grooving to inappropriate music" opportunity.

"That guy's nuts."
. . .Say the two witches, one of whom learned how to teleport from a ninja and the other who hopes to open a robotics store.

EVL hasn't regained the want to learn the massage, but I decide that shouldn't stop him from at least experiencing it.

Felicia, meanwhile, has a soak with crazy dancing tourist. "Is there a genie in your bottle?"

Once they're all refreshed, I sent EVL and Felicia back to Lucky Shrine Park, for one last try at the shrine. Will Felicia get something?

She will! She got the "great success in your career" message, which according to the guide means more chance cards with guaranteed right answers. I can dig it.

Another touristy picture they forced the locals to take.

As night falls, EVL decides they should try their chances on another tour (otherwise known as he has a want for it). This time they try the walking tour, and THIS time I pick right. $500 in the bank! That'll at least cover their room for a night.

Back at the hotel, more yoga for EVL, as he gets closer to maxing out his Body skill. His LTW is to max out all seven -- won't that be fun?

Their last morning in the Village sees them performing yet more Tai Chi. Hell, it feeds comfort and energy a little -- I'll leave them alone.

But all too soon, it's time to head home. (And by "all too soon," I mean pancakes were ordered, but Felicia didn't get a chance to eat them as she was forced to check out.)
Sunday, After Trip

Just what every vacationer hopes to come home to -- a leaky shower! EVL's the one to eventually fix this. He and Felicia can't complain too much, though -- both of them had a great vacation, and got three benefits. I chose Refreshed (Skill/Talent Badge/homework rate bonuses accrue for 48 hours) and Industrious (+30 job performance for 48 hours) for both of them. Separately, Felicia got Carefree (extra Want slot for 48 hours) and EVL got Productive (Comfort, Fun, and Social maxed out for 24 hours).

EVL also maxed out his Cleaning skill in the awesome chair, so that's good.

Productive he has been -- taking advantage of his benefit and his Platinum mood, I had him work on his weakest skill, Charisma, for a good long while.

Robots were also made, so EVL has some stock for his future shop.

One of Felicia's big wants was to learn Anger Management -- an easy task when you're feeling Refreshed and have the magical need-boosting chair!

And we end on EVL getting his needs up (in preparation for his crazy 3 A.M. shift) while Felicia works on making a toy robot of her own.
Whew! Long entry is long, and took longer than I hoped thanks to Imageframe craziness. Still, as long as all the pictures load. . . I hope you enjoy their crazy antics! The rest of the weekend will be all Inkwell Secundus when it comes to Sims.
