More EVL Updating

We've brought in a new family member and done tons of other stuff, so let's get down to it, shall we?
Mon

We open on EVL fixing Felicia's attempt at making a toy robot. This is both something nice and something annoying about Tinkerers -- they get enthusiasm from fixing things, but you've gotta put up with the weird sound they make at max enthusiasm.

Meanwhile, Felicia picks some oranges -- our first harvest! It yields nine Tasty oranges. I probably could have just sold them off the tree for extra money, but I plan to buy them a juicer at some point. I haven't really tried the juices yet, and I want to.

Both EVL and Felicia head to work, leaving me with nothing to do but hit the fast forward button. Fortunately, when EVL comes home, he's gotten a promotion! He is now Protector of Whales and works decent hours again! He's also apparently earned $50,000 over his life, which surprises me. When did he find the time?

But enough of that -- there are Servos to initialize! Tom has officially joined the family as a living being! Awesome!

EVL gets to know his creation.
Tom: What is this "skiing," and why should I be interested?
Anyway, here's some of Tom's vital stats:
Primary/Secondary Aspiration: Knowledge/Fortune
LTW: Become Hand of Poseidon (I find this hilarious, considering his creator is in Oceanography)
Turn-Ons/Off: Red Hair, Creative/Zombie
One True Hobby: Tinkering
Badges Assigned: Bronze Toy-Making badge (shrug)
He also has the same personality as his maker, since that's how Servos work. My intention is for him to help with the business -- primarily by being a cashier. That way EVL can focus on robot-making.

Speaking of which, EVL makes a little more stock for his future store while Tom does some basic gardening. I got to use the Spray option on plants for the first time, since the orange tree was apparently infested with bugs. Unfortunately, this dropped the tree's quality down to Sickly. Yeah, I think I'll stick with greenhouses and ladybug houses from now on.

Note to self -- STOP HAVING SERVOS CLEAN SHOWERS. IT DOESN'T END WELL. At least he didn't run amok and settled for just having a power crisis.

On the plus side, Felicia got herself a promotion as well! Which means BOOKCASE OF AWESOME! :D Hooray for being able to study any skills via book!

Felicia and Tom do some Artsy stuff. Tom's one True Hobby may be Tinkering, but his want to max out his Creativity kind of puts him on the path to being an Arts & Crafts junkie.

Proof of the new bookshelf's awesomeness -- EVL just maxed BODY. Now this is the perfect set-up for a knowledge Sim -- bookcase you can study any skill on, and chair that automatically refreshes all needs. I APPROVE.

Felicia and Tom make friends, mostly because Tom's social need has been in the pits ever since his little "accident." But hey, I always like the members of my household to get along.

EVL's method of making pals with his robot is a little different -- he impresses Tom with tales of their travels. Maybe one day I can send Tom on his own vacation somewhere.

EVL attempts to summon up a Spectral cat, but no luck. Ah well, we'll try again later, bud. Once we've gotten the money and room to set up some cat things, anyway.

There's also some reagent-making to do -- he's actually making the evil reagent newt eyes here. Mostly because there's a few neutral spells that require them, so might as well have them handy.

Meanwhile, Felicia and Tom continue their attempts to improve themselves. My Sims lead such EXCITING lives, don't they?
Tues

We start off Tuesday with Felicia headed off to work -- doesn't she look smart in her new High School Teacher outfit?

Tom, still obsessed with maxing out his Creativity, keeps painting while outside it pours like crazy. I swear, I have more rain in my Sims games than anyone else.

On the plus side, a lucky break on a chance card gets EVL promoted to Hand of Poseidon and brings him home early! Hooray! Of course, he'll be quitting his job soon to run the store, but still, good job!

EVL promptly does some studying for magic skill purposes. He will become a Level 10 Warlock!

GAH WTF I DIDN'T KNOW ORCHARD TREES COULD BE SET ON FIRE! The rain put it out very shortly, but still!

Also, rain can never overwater my ass! My poor drowned tomatoes!

The return of the sun coincides with the return of Felicia, who is also home early thanks to a lucky chance card promotion! She's now a University Guest Lecturer, and she's earned $10,000 over her lifetime. Wow.

Felicia does her best to salvage the garden. I'm quite worried about this upcoming output of crops, what with the sickly tree and drowned tomato plants.

Felicia: Wow, Katelyn -- I just made University Lecturer, and now you want to give me ANOTHER promotion?
Yup -- Felicia met this girl thanks to the whole "hey, I'm a friend of a friend, do you want to hang out" thing Nightlife gave us, and now Secret Networking has yielded Felicia another guaranteed promotion! My Sims are apparently on the road to major success!

While Felicia makes proper friends with her new buddy, EVL works on more robots and Tom continues painting. He also gets a Journalism job at some point during this day -- Oceanography hasn't come up. (And. . .I just realized Tom has the silliest LTW ever for a mechanical Sim, considering what happens with Servos and water.)

Felicia indulges in her Nature hobby. Catching the fully visible butterflies is a bust, but the invisible beetles and spiders? No problem! (Seriously, she hasn't even caught any of the bug box butterflies. It's a little amusing.)

Tom needs a social life, so I have him greet the next person to walk by. Her name's Vamsi, and she likes making jokes about balls.

And hanging out, talking about handcuffs.

Indulging her interests does get Tom a good boost in reputation, though. Nice.

EVL decides to actually use the telescope I bought to satisfy a want of Tom's, shortly after going ahead and buying Little N'Local on the computer. (I'll have to remember to hang up the deed and snap a picture of it next time.) Of course, he's not out there long before it starts raining. *rolls eyes*

Finally! Maxed Creativity for Tom, and his first foray into Platinum mood!

Felicia manages to stop the rain for fifteen seconds. I swear, it's like the weather simulation is determined to ruin that tomato crop.

Tom continues his streak of awesome by selling his first masterpiece. And then promptly going to paint again. XD Well, if that's what he likes. . .though he also has wants to get a flower-arranging bench and a sewing machine. Hmm.

And we end this set with EVL and Felicia having some sexy times during a thunderstorm. They actually tried for a baby, but no jingle sounded. Ah well, maybe it's still a little early to have kids. Let's get EVL's store set up first. And their house remodeled a bit -- I added a big chunk to the back end. Now it's just a matter of figuring out just where to put things. . .
Whew, long update. I hope you all enjoyed it, though. And I should have another one up this week too, since, you know, no school. :D As it is, I've got tumblr RP going (Victor just burst out of the Ruin Thirteen trapped him in in his Wonderland form, AWESOME) and some stuff still to do here on LJ, so later!
