Very Productive Days For My Sims

EVL and his family have been busy little beavers this weekend -- I invite you to share in their successes!
Wednesday

We open on EVL using Aqua Deletus to get rid of some annoying rain puddles the wolves insist on splashing in.

Tom's keeping in touch with his friend Vamsi. They seem to share a mutual love of hats. *resists the urge to get Tom a sewing machine and have him open a clothing store*

Felicia busily makes reagents. This family has a magical reputation to uphold after all.

The poor drowned garden -- and of course the plants would become harvestable the instant weeds pop up on them. Somehow, though, I still get 24 Tasty tomatoes from the plants.

Stop looking so charmed by the rain, EVL -- especially since Tom's out there recharging! (How do Servos react to rain, anyway? Tom showed no averse symptoms when he "woke," but by then the rain had stopped. What happens if I send him out there normally?)

Felicia comes home from work with a promotion to High School Principal (this is a higher position than University Guest Lecturer?) and goes treasure hunting. She gets -- a map to the Mysterious Hut. This one I sell, since we've got enough decorative maps.

Tom and EVL bond by chatting about Tinkering. Fun times, fun times. . . .

EVL gets going on the gardening again -- this time planing strawberries and cucumbers. And yes, I do have three ladybug houses -- the bugs were making mincemeat of the orange tree, and I didn't want to spray it again.

EVL wanted to cast a spell, so I tried Appello Cattus Amicus again, and got him a familiar! I wasn't sure what to call him at first -- and then I realized that, with my recent obsession with the Disc, there was only one thing I could call this cat.
Meet Greebo.

EVL is very pleased with his new Spectral Kitty. I am too. Greebo is a Genius, Midway between Hyper and Lazy, Friendly, Aggressive, and Midway between Finicky and Pigpen. He doesn't match perfectly with his book counterpart (I'd say Nanny Ogg's Greebo would be more Aloof than Friendly), but it's good enough for my Sims.

Besides, how can you not love a cat that needs no litterbox and can be dismissed anytime you don't feel like taking care of a pet?

Greebo watches the fish in the Koi pond, thus providing me with enough of a reason to keep it around. Pets can be so amusing.

EVL decides to teach Greebo to roll over.

Greebo is surprisingly open to the idea. He learns the trick very quickly. (Then again, EVL is one of the few high-Charisma Sims I've had train a pet. . .)

I never did show you EVL's deed to Little N'Local, did I? Here it is. Also, note the new downstairs bathroom with shower -- I'll be showing off more of the remodeled house in a little while.

First you hate each other. . . .

. . .then you decide to play? You animals are weird.

Tom praises Greebo for being playful, probably hoping to keep this cat from being the grumpy can-kill-anything kitty from the books. Greebo departs this plane shortly thereafter, as he was getting hungry and I wasn't sure where I was going to put his cat dish yet.

We'll end Wednesday with some shots of the house remodel -- I widened the back and basically added a little more space to all the rooms. The kitchen has nicer counters and a juicer (not that these Sims eat all that often -- that chair is just too good), I've upgraded and added some furniture (mainly the loveseat), added a shelf for some decorations (Tom dug up the cat, and I bought him the toucan statue to fulfill a want), gave them a violin for fun, and -- as you saw earlier -- added a shower to the downstairs bath.

Upstairs, I moved Felicia's cauldron and spellbook into EVL's room, then expanded that tiny room to make room for kids. I also expanded the upstairs bath. I just threw some tile down into that last space since I wasn't sure what to do with it. . . .
Thurs

Then, after playing, I got a brainwave. So when I went back today, I did a little remodeling and turned that area into another room. My idea is, toddlers will go in one area, then they'll "graduate" to the children's room. I'll probably make some more adjustments (like adding little toilets for the kids) later, but this will do for now. I also decided to adjust the wallpaper in some rooms, just for fun.

The orange tree yielded another crop -- 12 Tasty Oranges. Most these and most of the tomatoes later went into the new juicer -- my Sims never drink juice, so I want these guys to try it out.

Felicia gives EVL some of her robots so he'll be well-stocked for when he opens his store.

I don't know why you'd want a TV, EVL. That magic chair means you don't need much in the way of entertainment options.

Felicia and Tom got to work, leaving EVL to contemplate his deed. What say we actually get to work using Little N'Local?

The store! After a little tweaking from the original design. Yes, the big robots are on the floor -- damn things won't go on shelves unless you use "move objects on," and then that makes restocking get glitchy.

Our first customers! EVL does some basic selling and gets them to grab a few things.

The all-important first sale! You can see his First Simoleon sign in the background in subsequent shots.

And here's our first loyalty star! Hooray!

Business is booming, and EVL earns himself a Bronze Register badge.

Unfortunately, he can't please everybody.

But he pleases enough people. He ends the day at Rank 1 and with plenty of profit, having pretty much sold every robot he brought with him.

At home, he takes a moment to refresh and max out his Logic. . . .

Before getting started on "restocking." Felicia and Tom will be helping him with the toy robots, and hopefully Tom can pick up some Robotics badges himself soon to get some of the others out faster.

Felicia comes home with a promotion to College Senior Professor and a memory of having earned $25,000. Good for you, Felicia!

She decides to celebrate by fishing in the new pond I made for them. What, she had the want, and her OTH is Nature.

Catfish! Nice one, Felicia!

And then she follows it up by hooking herself. Ah well, at least there were no boots.

Tom, meanwhile, has fulfilled a big want by maxing out his Arts & Crafts enthusiasm! I'm so proud.

And we end on Tom busily making toy robots and Felicia making magical lamps while EVL takes a snooze. Go, be productive my little Sims!
Yeah, busy couple of days in the life of those Sims. But hey, I'm glad to have the shop finally up and running! I just need to think of a good name for it -- anyone have any ideas?
At any rate, I gotta hit the sheets soon -- school starts again tomorrow. *sigh* Ah well, it was nice having a week off. And hey, I ended the week by using up the last of my Amazon gift card and getting that Doc Brown/Flying DeLorean minimate set, so I can't complain. See you all tomorrow!
