Busy Little Beaver Sims

EVL and his family have been busy as of late! So let's get right to it, shall we?
Friday

We open on a typical domestic scene in this household -- Felicia skilling in the Throne of Awesome, and Tom making toy robots for EVL to sell later.

First instance of greatness -- Felicia has maxed out Charisma! Damn it, I love my super study nook. :D

Felicia heads out to work, and Tom presents his robots to EVL for sale, making best friends in the process.

Then, as Tom heads to work, EVL decides to try out the juice maker. Om nom orange juice? (It does fill up his Hunger bar a fair bit, at least.)

Now it's EVL's turn to head off to work, and to a lot of restocking for such a little shop.

And then he becomes obsessed with catching butterflies. Seriously, that's all he wanted to do every time I wasn't directing him to do something else. Even more interesting, he actually caught a jar, and stuck it in his inventory because he didn't have anywhere to put it. I let him take it home, and had Felicia release them later.

When he's focused, though. . .yeah, he's becoming quite the salesman. Which is funny, since he's so shy.

More stars means more Rank! The little store gets up to Rank 2 on this day -- I grab the LeTourneau Prize ($1000) for some extra cash.

However, we are starting to suffer a few overcrowding issues. Little n' Local needs a bit of a remodel, I think.

But hey, all these customers means EVL's snagged Silver badges for both Register and Sales! So he's doing something right.

More shots of the store in action. Doesn't every small business owner wish running a business could be this fun? (I bet my Dad does.)

. . .And then the evil witch showed up at closing time and sent everybody off with a rainstorm. Bitch.

Back at home, EVL works on replenishing the stock.

Felicia and Tom get the same ride home -- Felicia's hasn't gotten anything, but Tom's earned himself a promotion to Horoscope Writer!

Content in the knowledge that he's earned 5,000 simoleons, Tom shuts down to recharge.

When he wakes up, there's a townie walking by. Tom autonomously admires her, so I decide to continue the acquaintance and have him greet her properly. Meet Meadow.

Meadow did the high-five gesture with Tom -- looking this up revealed to me she's one of the "jock" townies, so I had Tom share a sports story with her. Meanwhile, Felicia gets her Benemoodus Simae on (for what reason, I don't recall. Probably skilling.)

As night falls, EVL decides to summon up Greebo for a little bonding.

And a little command-teaching. Teaching a cat to stay: a fool's errand?

Inside, Tom and Meadow talk puzzles. Meadow also gives Tom the "reduced Buy mode prices" benefit, which is nice.

Greebo does successfully learn stay! He departs to the spectral realm shortly thereafter at EVL's request. Best pet ever.

And as Friday becomes Saturday, EVL and Felicia try again to add a Liddell one to the household.
-RPM: Someone ought to smack you one for that pun.-
:p What matters is that it worked -- Felicia's expecting!
Saturday

More robot-making for Tom. Although EVL makes toy robots the fastest, I figure Tom and Felicia should help with the low-level stuff to free up EVL's schedule for the higher-level stuff.

I also realize that Tom's earned the Journalism career reward -- a statue that periodically raises needs. I stick it over here for the nonce, though I'm thinking of moving it to the bedroom later.

Average morning in the Liddell household -- Felicia using Aqua Deletus, EVL slugging down tomato juice.
. . .Okay, not so average, but you get the idea.

EVL tries his hand out at fishing. He's -- less than successful.

But he makes up for it later -- look at that catfish! Hooray for not catching boots.

Since Felicia and Tom have the day off, EVL takes them along to the store. Poor Tom has to walk while the two witches ride their brooms. Unfair? (Actually, my game guide says you CAN make Servos witches. . .hmmm. . .)

The expanded shop! I added a small bathroom, made some more room, and added some paint and lights. It's also been renamed to "Little n' Local Robots." *shrug* I'm used to calling it Little n' Local by now. I also later added a robot-making station for the purposes of replenishing stock.

Felicia and Tom talk Arts & Crafts and make best friends while EVL restocks.

And then Tom gets some recharging in while Felicia sees if there's any treasure to be had.

Nope. Just water mains.

Finally, the shop opens for business!
. . .With the owner and his wife exercising outside. Well, at least Tom's making some toy robots for later.

Tom joins EVL in serving the customers, but I quickly realize that, with the current size of the operation, he and Felicia don't have much to do. EVL can still pretty much handle this crowd on his own.

Still, they can help with sales while EVL mans the register.

And Felicia's Benemoodus Populous is always handy.

EVL tries out his new Hard Sell, with success. A natural salesman, this guy.

More gold stars, and we're up to Rank 3! I didn't choose a business perk this time, though -- just plain forgot.

They sold out of EVERYTHING today, which means despite the cost of renovations they still turned a profit. EVL decides to do a little on-site building while Felicia and Tom do Tai-Chi. They did a lot of that today -- well, it keeps them busy. I think from now on, only Tom will be accompanying EVL to the store. Mostly because it occurs to me that he's probably the perfect one to give the store too in the future -- his OTH is Tinkering, his personality is the same as EVL's, and he's got almost all of his skills maxed. That leaves EVL's future kids free to start stores of their own, instead of one of them taking over the robot shop. Nice!

A little restocking before they go nets EVL a Bronze Restocking badge! About time! Hopefully now he'll go faster.

Back at home, Felicia tends to the garden, and gets herself a Bronze Gardening badge! Today is just badge city!

It's also skill city, as it's EVL's turn to max out Charisma. Now all he needs are a couple of Creativity points, and he fulfills his Lifetime Want!

Adding to the awesomeness, Tom finally picks up his Bronze Robotics badge! Hooray!

Felicia was feeling hungry, so EVL magicked up some hot dogs. I swear, they only own a fridge to hold leftovers from Creatum Nutrimens in now.

As Tom works on more complicated robots, Felicia and EVL work on getting some more reagents. Spells must be cast!

EVL also noodles around on the violin I bought them. Yes, using the magic bookcase and chair is easier, but I ought to have them use their actual toys once in a while.

Felicia finally begins showing! The next generation is on its way!

And we end on an image not that different from the one we started on -- Felicia studying, EVL and Tom indulging in favorite hobbies.
I'm very, very proud of my little Simlets. Talk about a successful household! Here's hoping the next generation keeps it up.
-D: Hoping for a boy or a girl first?-
Oh, I'll be happy either way. I'm thinking I'll call a boy Arthur, and a girl Lorina. From the (very small) pool of Alice names. The next kid will have a Corpse Bride name, and the third a BTTF name.
-M: What if she has twins?-
. . .At least they can afford them? Slightly terrified of that thought, honestly.
All right, I've got other stuff to attend to. Sorry there's no pictures of Restful Springs -- I'll see if I can snag one tomorrow. Until then, good night!
