Happy Birthday Simon and George!
Apr. 1st, 2012 10:30 pmAnd the Weasley twins, while we're at it. Simon's birthday post is up for anyone who's interested -- a bit low-key this year, but I've been doing birthdays for a few years now. Forgive me if I streamline?
Additionally, I have a page of unused pictures for my Restful Springs site. Nothing too interesting there yet, besides a second kitchen fire I didn't mention in the actual update. I'm still shocked that a Sim autonomously extinguished a fire. When did Sims grow brains about such things?
Speaking of Sims, we've got an EVL update to get through! Hope you like gardening and stores!

Uh, guys, I'm pretty sure you've got that backwards -- isn't the pregnant woman supposed to be the one getting the backrub?

Well, even if they do the pampering a bit unconventionally, it's obvious EVL and his lovely wife are excited for their first child.

Another orange harvest! And another 12 Tasty oranges for the juicer. Which is good, because when they're not getting their needs fulfilled by the Throne of Light, EVL and Felicia kinda live off Juice now.

And the harvest nets EVL a Silver Gardening badge! He is a learning dynamo!

So is Felicia, who maxes out her Cooking skill here.

To celebrate, she tries unsuccessfully to catch some butterflies.

Well, sort of -- while she has no luck with the visible butterflies, the invisible Marginia Butterfly gives her no trouble. XD

Just your average day at the EVL household. Only that hole's going to have to be filled in in about ten seconds, as EVL's about to hit a water main.

Hun, I really don't think hooking yourself while trying to fish is good for the baby. Take it easy, okay?

Tom doesn't get to take advantage of the Throne of Light, being a robot and all, but maybe studying in front of the chessboard will have a positive effect? Smart People Play Chess, after all.

Meanwhile, I'm forcing EVL to get his social on and call his work friend Vyn, who he hasn't spoken to in a while. This does not prevent them from quickly becoming best friends.

And then, right when he hangs up, another pal he hasn't seen in a while is a walkby! I promptly send him out to say hello to Leo.

A quick game of red hands results in another new best friend for EVL.

EVL celebrates the moment by telling Leo the Dragon Legend. That's rather beautifully animated, I've got to say.

Once Leo's on his way, EVL does a little Creativity-building while Felicia plays around with pottery.

Then it's time for Felicia to get her social on and call her friend Ryan. I find it amusing she's talking about best friends at the same moment they become best friends.

Now now, Felicia, nobody likes a braggart.

Early Monday brings studying glory to Tom -- Logic is maxed!

It also brings the second baby pop! Just one day to go before we have a newborn!

Meanwhile, Leader of the Pack Baron has a roll in our yard. Sorry, Baron, but there's no need for werewolves here. But thanks for the hole, we'll use that to mine for treasure.

Felicia puts the bookcase to very good use, both learning Parenting (which is a fantastic skill) and maxing out her Body (which would be hard to do otherwise while pregnant).

Then it's more plate-making for her, while Tom presents EVL with the robots he needs to restock his shop.

Another harvest! Our cucumber plant yields up 7 Mouthwatering veggies. Om nom nom.

Felicia: So, does learning Creativity from a book mean reading about statues?

Whatever it entails, EVL's done it! Which means he's maxed out all his skills and fulfilled his Lifetime Want! His new one, for the curious, is Become Media Magnate.
Which basically means he now wants to get to the top of TOM'S job.
Excuse me while I laugh hysterically.

Now that EVL has proved his mastery of all skills, let's see if he can prove his mastery of his business. Tom's at work, and I didn't think it a good idea to bring a pregnant Felicia -- there's not much for her to do here. So EVL's stuck restocking all on his own.

As the first customers trickle in, EVL gets a head start on making toy robots for later restocking.

He's really getting a handle on running a small business.

Better yet, he's learned how to be the most effective salesman he can be -- he's earned himself a Gold Sales badge!

And the business is up to Rank 4 -- he can afford to let one of the more complicated bots go for a cheaper price.

You'd never guess he was a shy Sim by the strength of his Dazzle, now would you? Must come from having high Charisma.

STOP JUMPING ROPE IN MY STORE. Seriously, what is with Sims and jumping rope now?! It's the latest mindless obsession.
Ah well, EVL had a very successful day. He's got two new perks (Simply Influential and Perk Up), and he's doing well enough to quit his Oceanography job. After he gets the pay from the vacation day he took today, that is.

Back at home, Tom's perfectly content with his job -- he's made Sports Columnist and earned 10,000 simoleons. That would warm his little Secondary Fortune Aspiration heart, if he had one.

Felicia tends to the strawberries, because I've got to do something with her. One of these days, I'm going to make them a real greenhouse. Felicia's expressed an interest in getting into the garden club. . . .

Inside, EVL's just gotten his head wrapped around the parenting skill. I had him learn parenting because it was useful, but I might just have him learn all the other "secondary" skills now that he's maxed out the primary ones. And have him work on getting as many gold badges as possible. (Why the hell not -- that magic chair means none of them have to eat or sleep or do anything else if they don't want to.)

Learning the ins and outs of parenting has put EVL in a fatherly mood. I'm so curious as to what this kid is. Boy? Girl?
. . .Twins? (I fear slightly if it is, but I think this family could handle it.)

EVL starts preparing robots for the next day at his burgeoning business -- and to my shock, he produces a broken Munchiebot! O.o

Fortunately, Mr. Tinkering Dynamo here can easily take care of that problem.

*snork* Feeling fertile, Felicia? Actually, she's just drunk a beauty cocktail, since that was an option now that we have cucumbers. I like it just for the amusing effect.
And that's it! Yes, you have to wait until next week for the baby to be born. Consider it my April Fool's prank on you. :p
And now, I have a few things to take care of before heading to bed. Cripes, April already. . .
