Don't have much to say about today -- slowly wrapping up "Secundus," officially done with Biology (yay!), having Marty chatting with Clark on LJ and Forgotten Vows having adventures with Alia on Tumblr. . . I suppose I should have had a story ready to post or something, but I wasn't thinking of it. . .
Well, for lack of anything better, let me share the memories I've created for the Forgotten Vows verse version of A:MR. Part of that crossover involves Alice finding Victor memories in Wonderland to go along with the others. I'm still working out where she'd find them all, but here's what I've got so far:
Victor Memories (represented by a crystalline butterfly):
Vale of Tears:
• (At the top of the first slide) “I’ve loved butterflies all my life. They’re pretty much the only thing I was never afraid of. I don’t see how anyone couldn’t like such beautiful creatures.”
Hatter’s Domain:
• “Oh – the smog is just awful today! I don’t know how anyone can stand this, Alice. Who would want to live in a city when it’s so smelly and dirty?”
Tundraful:
• (On the island that leads to the invisible platform with the golden teeth) “Even packed in ice, fish goes bad quickly – at least, that’s what Father tells me. That’s why he wanted to get into the canning business. He says I’ll be in charge of it all one day. I – I’m n-not eager for that day to come, if I’m honest.”
Deluded Depths:
• “I’m g-glad you like my playing so much. I always g-get a little nervous when others hear me. . . I – I could g-give you a few lessons, if you like.”
Vale of Doom:
• “I’m so sorry for everything that’s happened to you, Alice. I know in some small way what it’s l-like to have your entire life fall apart on you. I wish I could help you more.”
Mysterious East:
• “I’ve heard the Chinese bind the feet of their women, to show they don’t have to walk anywhere. Can you imagine that? It sounds like slow torture.”
Cardbridge:
• (In the second card castle, to the left of the door) “Flying’s always been one of my great dreams. Being able to go from place to place as I please, high up in the air, no cares, no worries. . . Heh, y-you must think me a bit silly.”
Queensland:
• “No one should t-talk to women the way Jack Splatter does. Particularly not to you. If I h-hear him suggest you should start w-working the streets again, I might just – w-well, it wouldn’t be v-very gentlemanly of me, that’s all I’m s-saying.”
Dollhouse:
• “I really don’t understand Dr. Bumby’s way of dealing with the children sometimes. Why make them wear numbers? Surely their names can’t be that hard to remember. . . .”
• “I don’t want to forget! My memories aren’t painful! I wish he’d understand that! How you put up with him sometimes is beyond me!”
I think they're pretty good -- especially that last one, which I think serves as a nice counterpoint to Alice's "I want to forget!" at the beginning of the game.
So hopefully you'll find that amusing. As for me, I really ought to get to bed. . .
