Working on Chapter 19 of Secundus

I'm giving it a couple of once-overs before posting to try and make sure it's good -- and that I've caught all the typos. Should be up tomorrow. In the meantime, want a fairly short EVL update?
Monday

Yup, the gang's in a new house! One that is hopefully a bit more conducive to holding more people. Here's the ground floor, with a study for EVL, a music room, a living room, and a combined kitchen/dining room.

Second floor is the bedrooms with some baths -- EVL & Felicia's and Lorina's. That empty room will be a nursery once the next kid comes along.

And then the third floor is the magic room, plus a telescope on the balcony for stargazing.

As for the grounds, we have a greenhouse, a fishing pond, EVL's koi pond, and a Love Tub. I plan to add in a pool once they've rebuilt their finances a bit.

Lorina may be lucky enough to miss school today, but Felicia and Tom still have their jobs to get to. Felicia manages to sneak in a little bonding time with her little girl beforehand.

EVL, meanwhile, is taking the day off going to the store to work on the garden in the greenhouse.

He's growing a little of everything except eggplants -- two tomato plants, two strawberry plants, two pepper plants, and one each of cucumbers and pole beans. We also have all three trees represented now. As long as he and Felicia are gonna live on juice, they may as well live on a variety of juices.

After that's settled, it's time to summon Crystal Vu and take advantage of the fact that moving houses means it's summer again for a day, and thus easier to make friends.

Case in point! While EVL hangs out with Crystal, Lorina spies a little girl passing outside and goes out to talk to her. Her new friend is named Camryn.

Both pairs are good friends and ready to play by the time Felicia gets out of work.

And joy of joys -- EVL making pals with Crystal while she was still at work managed to her her a final promotion! She's now Education Minister! Which means she has a reason to do the silly cheering for once.

Aren't they cute? :D I'm glad Camryn passed by.

After Camryn leaves, Lorina gets her first experience with burnt muffins. I let her gobble down some cookies later to make up for it.

Tom, meanwhile, comes back from his job with lessened Arts & Crafts enthusiasm (it was about Halloween costumes -- I stand by my decision that the ROBOT doesn't necessarily have to dress up), so he blogs about it to catch up. Since Mr. Humble didn't deem the household worthy of receiving a computer (guess it's once per neighborhood), I bought one instead -- a steampunky recolor of the expensive Little Sister computer. Ain't it cool?

Night falls, and reveals some rooms to be rather dark. Felicia to the rescue with crafting lights!

Felicia: You've got a Gold Sales badge. Sell me on the idea of having more kids with you.

Obviously, he does a very good job. And third time's the charm -- we have a baby jingle! Lorina's gonna have a little brother or sister!

Tom takes advantage of the high-flung telescope to study the stars. I was half-hoping he'd get abducted, honestly. That would have been funny.

And we end on a shot of EVL gardening in his underwear. As you do.
Shorter than the usual update, I know, but I was getting adjusted to the new house, and I wanted to keep things simple. Next update should be longer just because I'll be going back to the store. Want to keep that rank climbing!
Now, back to editing Chapter 19. Later!

Date: 2012-05-13 06:15 am (UTC)Have you seen the trailer for Frankenweenie? The kid in that movie I swear looks like a young Victor. Though its probably cuz it's a Tim Burton movie and it's computer animated instead of puppets.
Edit: I just looked up the cast. Johnny Depp isn't in it but the kid's name is Victor Frankenstein!

Date: 2012-05-13 02:59 pm (UTC)Yes, I have -- Tim Burton, you need new character models. XD It's based off an old live-action short of his, you can find it on YouTube with a little searching. But the new one isn't computer-animated, it's stop-motion. Probably has CG to smooth out the edges, of course.
