crossover_chick: Alice (Wonderland) looking kind of confused (AMA: WTFery?)

Seriously -- it's gone from one extreme to the other outside. Today it was downright chilly and rainy. Not only did I get along fine without my fans, I actually wore long pants all day. The hell?
-TTV: Well, you did want it to cool down. . .-
Not this much! Ah well, it's supposed to get up into the low 80s and be sunny tomorrow, so hopefully that'll be better. At least more summery.

In other news, made a go of watching Helloween's "Amnesia: The Dark Descent" Let's Play. Got up to him confronting an invisible water monster before I decided I wasn't sure I wanted to see any more. Amnesia has a reputation as an ultra-scary game, so I think that, if I want to watch this (even with Helloween), I gotta take it in small chunks. I also went ahead and spoiled myself for it -- I figure it'll make it easier on me when I do watch it all the way through.

I also wrote a new oneshot -- one centering around Alice's birth. It's sort of a companion to "Absence of Hate." I'll be cleaning that up and uploading it at some point, hopefully soon. Tomorrow I'll also start on "Finding You" -- and I really gotta play the Garfunkles so I can get back to doing [livejournal.com profile] ink_sec_sims updates. This is getting kind of embarrassing. Stupid burnout for no reason.
-TD: Sure it's not you wanting to play Alice?-
I'm sure that's a part of it, but I really do want to finish off another cycle before I try that.

Okay, now to stalk the internet for interesting things.

I watched that LP out of curiosity because I heard it had sanity effects like Eternal Darkness, but that game is so dark you can't see anything. Granted I was watching on my phone (and I wasn't too keen on seeing male reproductive organs) so maybe that lessened the spook factor. It's probably scarier to play it.

At least with Eternal Darkness you can see everything and some of them are amusing. A few are terrifying but most of those you can cause to happen or just avoid the specific area if you don't want to see it.

It does -- at least, the screen definitely gets fuzzy. And yes, this is an issue. Problem is, darkness appears to be sort of a major game point (Daniel gradually loses sanity in it) sooo. . .

I seem to recall checking out a few things about Eternal Darkness. Dear LORD some of the voice acting. . . XD

I think it's one of the best horror games I've ever played. Okay, one of the ONLY horror games I ever played. Still...

If you're ever up to a LP of Eternal Darkness, I'm gonna suggest SuperHobbit89 (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL43721859A0231253&feature=plcp). He's funny, he has a nice voice and he doesn't play blind.

LOL -- yes, I see.

I dunno -- maybe one day I'll check it out. Me and horror games have this love/hate thing going on -- I often love the concept behind them, but when it comes time for sleep. . . *sigh*
