crossover_chick: Doc looking very sarcastically over his shoulder (BTTF: in a sarcastic mood)

I'd hoped to have another chapter of "Finding You" up today, but I find myself stuck thanks to the people who designed Alice's room in "Madness Returns" not showing how she put her pictures up on her walls.
-TD: . . . This is important?-
Actually, yes. Victor's first real conversation with Alice comes about as a result of him asking if it's okay if he hangs up a few pictures. Alice tells him it should be fine and offers to get him something to hang them with. Now, I had her offering tape automatically, but then I thought I'd better check it. Pressure-sensitive adhesive tape was invented by a surgeon in 1845 according to Wikipedia (and it's sourced, I went and checked it out), but I have no idea if a commercial version -- you know, like Scotch tape or Sellophane -- was around in 1875. The next mention of the stuff seems to be from the 1920s. So I went to check on how Alice's pictures were hung up in the game (via Helloween's Let's Play) -- and surprise surprise, the pictures are apparently stuck to the wall via static cling or something. *slightly grumpy*
-D: *chuckles* You really shouldn't let it bother you so much.-
I know, I know. I suppose I could always have her offer him tacks. Same difference in the end, right?
On the plus side, my attempt to find out if tape as we know it was around in the Victorian era led me to a neat Victorian-themed tumblr. Maybe I'll ask the owner, just to see if she knows anything. She's got all sorts of weird facts up, sooo. . .

When you were in grammar school, did your teachers ever hang stuff on the walls using tack? It was this green silly-putty type stuff that clung to papers like nobody's business but let go of walls pretty easily. Maybe check if they had something similar, though I'm not 100% sure that "tack" was the real name of the stuff. I just remember it was fun to stick stuff to it. :p

I have no idea, but hey, another possibility! *tries looking it up* Hmm -- looks like "tack" isn't the name. I either get stuff on the sharp pointy things or nautical expressions. I'll keep trying, though.
