-D: Moved onto making fun of me now?-
It had to be done. :p Anyway, the major event of the day is, of course, the boys going out to Shonash Ravine and saving Clara Clayton. And Doc getting twitterpated. And then having a mild internal freakout when he realizes she's supposed to be dead.
-M: That happens, yeah.-
Anyway, now there are more problems for our intrepid heroes to solve! Fun.

First day back at school today -- not too bad. Basically just going over the syllabus and getting to know each other. I expect much of the same to happen tomorrow. Things probably won't start picking up education-wise until Thursday. I'm just kind of happy to have two days where I have only one class. Granted, I have three on Mondays, and one of them is a LONG one, but I'll survive. Worth the trade-off.

And hey, while we're here, why don't we have another Sin & Virtue story? We started with Gluttony, so let's have Temperance:

Scott Pilgrim Versus The World
After the debacle with Bumby, Alice decided that the best thing she could do – both for herself and for everyone around her – was to abstain from romantic relationships. From any sort of relationship, really. She invariably seemed to end up getting close to toxic people. Bumby had just been the worst in a long, long line of mistakes. Better to keep away from others. To leave love to those who could find it with people who didn’t make a mockery of the word. She didn’t need love. What she needed now, more than anything, was a fresh start.
So she moved as far away from London as she possibly could, ending up in the small Californian town of Burton Valley. She found herself a job delivering packages, rented a little house on the edge of town, and made a few superficial acquaintances. People began to talk about her and what little they knew of her past, but she ignored them. She had made her vow, and she was sticking to it – no relationships. Period.
And then, somehow, she got invited to a party. She wasn’t really fond of social gatherings, but she figured she’d put in an appearance, just to be polite. (And maybe put an end to a few of those rumors that she was completely antisocial – she didn’t want them affecting her job.) She had a drink or two, found herself a comfortable wall, and parked herself there for the night. She only really talked to one person – a rather shy, pale young man who stumbled over a story about the origins of Pac-Man, obviously in the hopes of impressing her. She didn’t let on that she actually found the story a little amusing. Nor that she thought she knew him already – he looked an awful lot like someone she’d discovered had a fantastic subspace highway in his head. She didn’t want him to think there might be a connection. No relationships. Period.
Which was why it was such a shock when she delivered a package to a house, only to have the same man – Victor Van Dort, by the name on the box – fling open the door before she even rang the doorbell. And then immediately babble on about how he was going to ask her out but that would be stupid and probably kind of rude and would she please go out with him sometime? She tried to refuse, but somehow they got to talking, and then he was asking her to at least just “hang out” with him. . . .
And she agreed. Partly to get him to take his stupid package already, and partly because – well, would it really be so bad to hang out with him? Didn’t mean they’d end up in a relationship. And, frankly, she was starting to feel just a little lonely.
(And although she didn’t want to admit to herself – Victor was rather cute.)

Basically, this would be a bit of Alice's backstory for "Victor Van Dort Vs The World." I've always imagined Alice as trying to close herself off from relationships for fear of getting hurt again even in her own universe, so it was really easy to transfer that to her Ramona counterpart. Victor's goofy behavior is taken straight from Scott in the movie. It amuses me to think of him failing to tell the Pac-Man story and doing the whole "I was going to ask you out but that would be dumb will you go out with me" thing. I'm calling the setting of the story "Burton Valley" because it combines Corpse Bride characters with BTTF ones -- Burtonsville and Hill Valley, geddit?

Not much else to say about this one -- although I never finalized that list of "Alice/CB/BTTF-only" Evil Exes, did I? Here it is:
#1: Carpenter
#2: Biff Tannen
#3: Barkis Bittern
#4: Edna Strickland
#5 & #6: Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum (in the form of the Orderlies)
#7: Angus Bumby

I think those are all good matches for their respective characters. Except maybe Edna, but she's in there mainly for the hilarity factor. I've run out of time to properly explain my choices, so I'll do that in the next SP-themed one, along with showing off more of who's who in the cast.

Hope you enjoyed that! Happy 10:04!

FARLEY: Well, look it at this way, Doc - at least you didn't meet her around the time she tried to commit fratricide and patricide on the same day. Or went nuts because she found out her dad was from a race of so-called monsters. Or is addicted to blood. Or, er, [teeny tiny embarrassed facepalm] I think you get the idea...

FARLEY: [head planted firmly on desk] I know, I know...

How do you think the original Eastwood would have reacted to the name change, anyway?

Of the ravine? Probably would have thought, "Well, THAT'S a weird coincidence."
