Mall Trip: Great Success!

-->Ride up and ride back, got to read more of my newest Discworld book, The Last Hero. As usual, it's a lovely bit of Pratchett, and the ILLUSTRATIONS! :D Oh Kidby, you are amazing. Such a beautiful book.
-->Decided to try the Tuscan Chicken Melt at Subway for lunch, despite my parents saying it was bad when they got it. Diagnosis? They obviously went to a bad Subway, because the one I got was tasty. Om nom nom.
-->Got a round or two in on all my favorite games at D & B, and found a few songs on the music machine. I got a Flyleaf song with the same name as a Birthday Massacre song (In the Dark) on the off chance I had misattributed the artist. I didn't -- Flyleaf's song is totally different, but I like it anyway, so yay.
-->Got in to see Frankenweenie without a hitch. Thoughts below the cut (crossposted from my tumblr):
Overall, I liked it! It felt like a natural extension of the short, more or less. Sparky was soooo cute, both in “regular” and “Frankenstein” forms. I liked Persephone too — you could really believe that she and Sparky had a thing. Poor girl, you just wanted to hug here when she was mourning Sparky’s first death… The other characters were pretty fun too. And the rampage of the monster undead was good, even if it didn’t make much sense. Although I’ve got a theory on that — in the “Frankenweenie” world, science is actually a combo of traditional science and magic, and the whole “resurrection” thing is strongly influenced by what you WANT out of the resurrection. Victor wants his dog back — he gets Sparky, almost as good as new. The other kids wanted something impressive — they get admittedly-impressive monsters. Well, except Nassor, who apparently just wanted his hamster back underneath it all. Colossus was such a cute mummy! And Toshiaki can probably blame at least part of the Gamera-zation of his turtle on the fact he idiotically did his experiment in a place where the resulting creature could get soaked with Miracle-Gro.
One thing I do kind of wish they’d done more of is expand the female characters. Elsa and Weird Girl are both kind of flat when compared to the boys. And honestly, I’m not entirely sure HOW Weird Girl got involved in the whole “resurrect dead animals” business. It looked to me like she just sort of appeared in the group. And that business with Mr. Whiskers getting merged with the bat… I dunno. I think it might have worked better if Mr. Whiskers had been a dead pet like the others and just happened to come back as a vampire to match the wererat Edgar brings back. Just my opinion, though.
And yes, I’m now picturing various meetings between Sparky, Scraps, and the two Victors. XD I’m actually trying to work out a family tree to link the two Victors — I think it works best if Victor VD is Victor F’s great-grandfather. So let’s see:
Victor Van Dort + Victoria Everglot = James, Emma, Charles
Emma Van Dort + Henry Frankenstein = Ben, Sheldon
Ben Frankenstein + Susan Byron = Victor
I think that’ll work. :p

Long Fall Boot Socks! Or, as the package calls them, Long Fall Booties. XD I've actually wanted these before I came up with the idea of being an Aperture Test Subject this Halloween, so it's nice to have them now.
Now, remember how I said I wanted to be a Combustible Lemons Tester?

Yes. They make a combustible lemon plush. And the best part? It vibrates. XD You pull that ring in the top, and it buzzes. It's just TOO PERFECT. XD

I actually went ahead and did one of the Radula Rooms for the hell of it -- the minigame one. I might do all the minigame ones just for shits and giggles. Well, most of the minigame ones -- I'm noooot sure I want to do an extra round of "Off With Her Head." That particular minigame is kinda frustrating. *will never forgive the idiot who forgot to redo the code for the cannon firing bit in that* We'll see.
Anyway, lots of RP stuff happening on Butterfly Boy's tumblr, so later! Expect to see the "Charity" fic up tomorrow!
