Mall Trip Sum-Up
Mar. 13th, 2013 07:58 pm-->Despite a tough time getting to sleep, actually woke up early to sunny skies. Hooray!
-->Mall was quiet, which I always like. More room to breathe!
-->Hit Newbury's first, of course. After browsing the merchandise and resisting the call of a Chell action figure (I found her price just a bit off-putting as it would have knocked off more than half of my gift card -- maybe next time, if they still have them), I got two new Blu-Rays: Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. TB's AiW is one of those that I wanted to get because all the good special features were on the Blu-Ray; CWaCoM was a replacement for a DVD that's gone a bit crazy. (I think I told you that the menu screen just doesn't work anymore?)
-->Subway for lunch, and did I score a deal: Oven-Roasted Chicken Breast is $3 this month, so I got that, AND I had a coupon for free chips. Om nom nom.
-->Dave & Buster's after that. I had a really good day there. Highlights:
-->Got a cone of frozen yogurt from Pinkberry -- saw that the price with toppings was the same as the price of a small cup without, so I figured it was the better deal. Chocolate hazelnut with dark chocolate crispies and brownie bites -- yum.
-->Kennedy Plaza has a new thing going on -- little moveable signs with trivia about RI and Providence. And HP Lovecraft. XD
-->Got home shortly before parents returned from the beach, ended up taking a walk with Mom. The weather was so nice today -- such a welcome change after yesterday's pouring rain, and all the snow we got through February!
So yeah, a good day overall. I even got most of my backups done. :) The one bad part is discovering how much I have to catch up on, so let me get to that. . .

-->Dave & Buster's after that. I had a really good day there. Highlights:
- New touchscreen game -- Infinity Blade FX. I managed to get through a few rounds before getting killed, and scored a good amount of tickets. It's fun, though I still need to learn how to dodge properly and such.
- Did very well ticket-wise -- I seemed to have a knack for getting decent scores on the ticket games.
- Related to the above -- there's a game there called Blox or Something Blox (can't really remember). You move around a paddle that controls one on-screen. The goal is to stack blocks until the top of the stack reaches the "Win Zone," where you win the shown amount of tickets (basically, a line near the top of the screen that gets farther away as the game goes on). I've been able to get up to the second level of ticket winning consistently, but somehow I always screw up when it comes to the third.
Not today. I FINALLY broke the third line, and got 600 tickets for my trouble. Yay! - Of the racing games I played, I got first place four times. Two of those were on the Mario Kart game, and I almost always get first on that. But the other two were on games I don't play much and thus don't know all the tricks to (in fact, one was a brand new game!). So that's ego-boosting.
- Also ego-boosting: 100% notes hit on a song I almost never play on Guitar Hero. Tempered by the fact that I always play beginner, but me acing a song even on that difficulty is practically unheard of. And one I don't usually play? Wow.
- I managed to get a good chunk of the music I wanted from the kiosk! Always nice.
