Sims To Speak Of!

crossover_chickBut first, fanfic news: Chapter 6 of "Forgetting You" is up! It's a shortish chapter focusing on Victor in Billingsgate, but I think it's pretty good. At the very least, I hope you'll enjoy it.
Now, onto the Sims stuff. I visited EVL and his family over in Steampunk Gulch, and they had quite the productive day:
Tom: That's right -- I QUIT! What? Oh, no, there's not really any bad reason. It's just we're swimming in money, this isn't even the job that fulfills my LTW, and I've just always wanted to say that.
Yup -- Tom's quit his job. I figured, if I'm ever going to get Little N Local Robots over those last hurdles to Rank 10, I'd better make him a full-time robot on-staff.
Tom: As this is the season of giving, I got you a present!
EVL: Tom, you shouldn't have! What is it?
Tom: All the oranges cluttering up my inventory. Enjoy!
Suddenly I'm glad the fruit trees are dormant for the moment. Also, need to make them drink more juice.
I would KILL for Aqua Deletus in real life. Actually, I'd kill to have most of the spells the Sims get. They're awesome.
With the children packed safely off to school, and Felicia with a day off, it's time to visit the store. Tom labors away on making toy robots while EVL restocks and Felicia is a lazy bum.
Once the store opens, however, she's right there on the front lines to man the cash register (despite having only a Bronze badge in said subject). EVL is his usual charming self to the locals, and the day starts off well.
And continues to go well, as EVL joins his lady love on the --
What the hell? Is that Kimberly Kody the Atrociously Evil Witch shopping at our store?!
It is indeed -- and furthermore, EVL successfully charms her into buying one of their bigger-ticket items! Maybe it helps that he's the Neutral warlock of this magical marriage. Or maybe he's just that good a salesman.
As the crowd gets bigger, Felicia and EVL swap places for a while. Felicia does well enough with selling toy robots to get herself a Silver Sales badge! Hooray for being useful to the shop!
EVL dazzles Kimberly into buying one of his hovering bots too. I think marrying one High Witch and now conning the other into buying expensive robots has to mean he deserves the the title of Grand High Warlock of All or something.
And then Kimberly decides to remind us all that she's evil, damn it, EVIL by making our lot rainy and stormy and generally unpleasant.
Felicia pits her magic skills against her mortal enemy's!
They're super-effective! Well, until Kimberly cast the lot-ruiner spell again, and I decided the best counter was to wait until she left before casting Beautifus Locus once more.
Even with an evil witch hanging around making the lot a less happy place to be, business is booming -- to the point where, at long last, EVL collects the hundredth star he needs to push his business up to Rank 9! We're one away from Rank 10, people! He chose getting the "Manipulation" Sales social as his perk, incidentally -- not that he really needs it, but none fo the others seemed appropriate.
The two witches face off -- so one can buy things from the other. I know you've contractually obligated to hate her and only have a bronze Cash Register Badge, Felicia, but she's our best customer of the day, so don't screw this up.
The transaction actually goes pretty smoothly -- and nets Felicia a Silver Cash Register Badge! Evil witches have their place after all.
EVL and Felicia celebrate with slow-dance smooching as Tom continues slaving away. Yes, he's been making robots this entire working day -- he's uniquely qualified to do so, given his own robotic status and his lack of inconvenient needs. One day I'll make him a Servo partner, and then once it's EVL's time, he'll pass ownership of the shop over to the Servos. It only seems fair (and it frees up his children to have shops of their own!).
Back at home, it's EVL's turn to be lazy as he refreshes his needs in the Throne of Light. Tom's still stuck making robots, and Felicia's fish- Hang on, what's this?
A Silver Fishing Badge! Cripes, Felicia, you're just racking them up today, aren't you? Although have you really earned that badge? You haven't caught a single fish.
Felicia: You were saying?
Note to self, make them eat more fish too.
Around this time, I realize that having only ONE robot crafting bench is monstrously inefficient when you have a robot shop and two Gold-Level robot crafters. EVL christens the new upstairs one with a hydrobot.
Lorina: How come the Voice out there won't get us a TV?
Because you have enough to do without one. You in particular need to keep skilling, missy. College awaits!
Okay, Nell? May I ask WHY you refuse to be swung around in any place other than the greenhouse? You're going to crush the plants! (Not that we particularly NEED more produce around here. . .)
Lorina fulfills a major want by maxing out her Logic score. Woot! I do love that bookcase.
Upstairs, Nell is embarking on a knowledge journey of her own -- learning to study! Can't get good grades without it.
Mission achieved before the homework's even done! Maybe it's because all these Sims are skill machines.
Also, a shot to prove that I'm working on Nell's personality -- she's up to 2 Grouchy thanks to the combined efforts of her mom and dad. (And I nearly wrote MUM and dad, I watch way too much British stuff.)

Whew! Pretty long update, no? But it was good to check in with this lot again. (And if you're wondering where I found the time -- Spanish teacher was sick. I didn't have school today.)
