Brain Off Day

I had plans, those plans never came to fruition. I don't know if it's because for some reason I didn't get enough sleep (I did stay up until almost 3 -- I've got to stop doing that), because of the heat (over 100 today in the heat index! -- and yes, I have air conditioning, but I was in and out of it today because of reason #3), or because I watched Wreck-It Ralph and some of The Avengers with Dad over supper, or some combination, but -- yeah, brain just having a hard time paying attention to anything that isn't TV Tropes or El Goonish Shive today. Bleh. So no RPing or writing, sadly. (Though I DID do some comments as Mallow Hallow's rulers, and made sure that everything was up to date. I may be having a bad brain day, but I'm DETERMINED to be a good mod who does shit in a timely manner.)

I also do have one idea that I've been poking at, and is actually related to the whole "El Goonish Shive" obsession -- I've been thinking of expanding my "spellbook" for Forgotten Vows's universe. At the very least, I'm thinking he should have the ability to summon things from other places -- sort of like how Susan can do it here, only without the symbol-marked storage area restriction and with summoning the actual object, not just a magical copy of same.

Why am I interested in this, especially given Forgotten Vows barely uses magic as-is? Well, actually, that's part of the reason why -- I want to give him more spells he can actually use. Particularly ones that might have an offensive purpose -- he's got a sword in his tumblr-verse that he barely uses as well simply because it's inconvenient to drag around. Being able to summon it would be very helpful should he get into a fight.

. . .Yes, he may have been complaining about this in my head, why do you ask?

Anyway, back to what I suppose I can at least call "research." Although, really, it's just me having fun with a comic I really like. (Partially because Dan's got a great magic system worked up. :) )

Glad you're keeping up with your new modly duties. :D We miss you over at multiverse_nexus but I totally get that mallowhallow is probably keeping you hopping. You're doing great!

Well, I just want to make sure nobody has to wait ages and ages for a reply from me. (That sort of thing is kind of why the old mods left, in fact.) I do need to dip back into the Nexus at some point, though -- I don't think DG-Victor has been out in a while. Just that Forgotten has been my strongest muse for a while, and I do need to keep an eye on my game.

Yeah, that's kind of important, certainly. Are you still the only mod, or are you looking for possible helpers?

Yeah -- I appreciate the old mods making the game and keeping it running for as long as they did, but even they admitted that it was in a "chaotic spot" earlier.

So far it's just me -- I might be looking for helpers later. I am still on a job hunt, after all. There's one person who I think was another potential candidate to take over -- I might contact them if I need a hand. :)
