Sims & Fic!

Yes, you get a double-whammy today, which is why I'm here early. First up, Chapter 16 of "Forgetting You" has been posted! Read on FF.net or AO3. It's short, especially compared to the previous chapter, but I think people will enjoy it nonetheless. :)
Secondly, I have an update from Steampunk Gulch for you all! Our favorite family the EVL Liddells were quite busy today, so let's get right to it:
Saturday
<
We open on a scene of childish pleasure -- hey, somebody's gotta play with the clown-in-the-boxes.

Felicia appears to be slightly dubious about my taste in expensive sculpture for the house. (I've been buying random art objects in an attempt to spend some of their massive amounts of cash.)

EVL, WTF are you --

EMMETT VICTOR LIDDELL! That is your DAUGHTER'S snowman! Also, you're in a great mood, so what the hell?

Felicia does not approve either of EVL's snowman smashing or his decision to build a new snowman right next to the mangled remains of the old one.

Fortunately for EVL, his Grouchy daughter is locked in conversation with his nearly-in-Social-desperation robot.
. . .I'll take "sentences I never thought I'd write for $500," Alex.

Awwww.
Nell: You'll always be my chief minion, Tom!
Gotta get you some Nice points, honey. You're acting a mite too much like your namesake.

First, though, EVL is a proud self-employed businessman, so it's probably about time to visit his little store. You may notice that we now have shelves upon shelves of toy robots. I will eventually also put down some more expensive robots for sale as well. Though, really, we're almost at Level 10 anyway just from this. . .

As usual, it's not long before business is booming.

And stars are being earned. Who knew a tiny little robot shop could do so well?

Tom gets his Salesmanship on, and to my delight, it's not long before he gets his Gold badge! w00!

. . .Why. Is there always. One idiot. Who insists. On jump-roping. In my SHOP?!

Simply because I haven't seen it before, I decide to have EVL manipulate a guy into buying an expensive robot. He seems reluctant at first. . .

. . .But apparently EVL is privy to some of the old "hypnosis" magic from Makin' Magic.

"Oh yeah, I totally see it your way now! Robots are awesome!"

But Manipulation has its consequences -- namely, the loss of a star. Which is probably only fair -- who likes being forced into buying random crap?

Doubly unfortunately for EVL, it seems that this misuse of his powers has affected his ability to dazzle! Either that or Katy here has fulfilled her shopping need and thus NEEDS TO GO HOME ALREADY.

Tom does a lot better with his mark -- whom I've just realized is the same sucker EVL just forced into buying an expensive robot. There's a lot of Sims on the lot whenever the store's open, it's easy to lose track! Still, it's a successful day, and EVL closes up with a lot of money in his purse (just what we need) and just eleven stars to go to get to the fabled Rank 10.

Back at home, while EVL and Tom indulge their creative sides, Lorina gets her Physiology on and Nell proves to me that she must have some sort of stuck smart milk effect or something, as one study session of Cooking nets her 8 points after starting at 0. Yay genius Sims!

Yes, the robot is making and consuming juice. It was a want of his, and I don't often get to fulfill his wants.

I would have appreciated it if the Orangeade had given him badge points in something he HADN'T just maxed out, though -- wait! I misread that! That's RESTOCKING points! Okay then, good job Orangeade.

Skilling! Robot-making! A really, really horrible shot I should have thought more about before taking!

Felicia comes home with her Lifetime Aspiration bar maxed out and thus in PermaPlat for the rest of her days. To celebrate, I have her encourage the hell out of Nell to be nice. We're up to three points, which makes her the same as her sister at least. Then again, everything about her is the same as her sister, so more encouraging will be needed.

Speaking of her sister, Lorina's gotten fit from some good old yoga. Earn those skill points! Make college easier on yourself!

And so this update ends with a mother and daughter talking about learning to walk while a robot plays bass.
. . .How can you not love the Sims? XD
Well, that was fun. :) I might remake EVL if/when I switch over to Sims 4 -- Felicia too, maybe. Though it'll be a shame that they can't be magical right off the bat. Ah well, hopefully we'll get an EP with spells and hexes not too long after release. I'd buy that one in a heartbeat.
Anyway -- I've got to take my shower, then check up on the tumblr and whatnot. Later!
