crossover_chick: picture of Alice (Wonderland) in front of the swirling purple Wonderland tunnel (AMA: Alice down the rabbit hole)

Theme of today's session, anyway -- it's basically the theme of Queensland, so. . . I am SO looking forward to when we stomp the guy. SQUISH. :D Anyway, notes:

-->I always feel bad for the White King. He's one of the few Wonderlanders who has never treated Alice badly. Ordered her around, yes, but never tried to kill her or anything like that. And the shattered piece of his face that remains when you break him is just D: At least I know he can be brought back.
-->The architecture of the Queen's castle is fascinating. I mean, all the dead overgrown flesh is disgusting -- and the parts where the flesh isn't dead even more so -- but I like looking at all the chunks of scenery and realizing that once, this place probably looked pretty awesome. I recognized one crumbling area as a library -- and incidentally, the book "titles" are all card symbols, just stylized. Cool :P
-->Relatedly, I love in certain outside areas you can look around and see bits that look recognizable from AMA, like the towers from the Queen of Heartsland maze.
-->Executioner is of course a douche, but at least he's a useful one. Getting him to kill his own underlings is surprisingly fun.
-->Less fun is trying to get through the fights without getting savaged. Flying enemies combined with dangerous ground ones is not a pleasant combination. And again, if Alice gets hit once, she's probably going to get hit twice. On the plus side, I now have the roses to soak the damage, and I have yet to lose a fight and have to reload from the checkpoint.
-->Chess puzzles have appeared, and I find it amusing that you can get the Grandmaster achievement from solving the first one -- which, despite having two rounds, is the easiest. You should get it for solving ALL of them. (Not that my PC version has achievements, but still.)

I'm actually at the start of the second chess puzzle -- I guess that puts me about halfway through? Either way, it was a nice boon to my writing -- I passed through the area with the Victor memory, so I worked on that bit today, plus the first draft of the Epic Footsmash. :P I'm still deciding what sections from the beginning should be included -- I know I've got to do the intro of the Executioner, but do I do the smashing of the White King? What about that Lizzie memory that ties in so well with the Liddell Door one? Questions, questions. . .

Not much else to report about the day except it was pretty freaking cold. Winter is coming, and faster that I want. It would do that the year I pick a short-sleeved, short-skirted dress that I'm intended to go barefoot in as my costume. -.- At least I'll be inside. And who knows, might be a nice Halloween. Fingers crossed, people! For now I'm having dessert and catching up on some videos. Unskippable, here I come!
