crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)

On the third day of Christmas, I bring you some BTTF fic! Because, contrary to popular belief, Victor and Alice haven't TOTALLY eaten my brain.

Day Three:
“Emmett? Come here a moment.”
Emmett entered his father’s study with a frown. Judge Brown was looking very serious indeed. Oh boy. What’s happened? “What is it, Pop?” he asked, resisting the urge to fidget it.
“It occurred to me earlier that – well, I haven’t made your last couple of Christmases very pleasant,” Judge Brown confessed. “So even if it is only the 3rd, I wanted to start making amends.” He smiled suddenly. “Starting with saying just how proud I am of you.”
It didn’t matter what he found under the tree now – that was the best gift of all.

I really do like the Telltale Games Verse, and Doc's father Angry German Roosevelt Judge Brown. Learning more about Doc's past and actually managing to fix the rift between them -- that was great. So I figured a little holiday fluff was in order. Obviously this is post-game, with the pair having reconciled in the wake of Emmett's disastrous debut at the science fair. I figured Judge Brown might have made some unkind comments about any science-related presents his son received in the past, given their relationship at the start of the Game, so this is a chance to start over. And hey -- given how I portrayed my Doc's father, Elias. . .well, it's a pleasure to write an older Brown who's actually reasonable.
-D: *smiles a little* Love you, Pop.-
Awwww. :)

Had my first workshop class today -- not too shabby. Mostly introductory stuff -- us introducing ourselves, talking about what we hoped to get out of the class, making lists of our marketable skills and working on how to make ourselves more marketable in general. I'm one of the youngest people there so far, though we'll see what happens when the class continues on Friday. Yes, Friday -- turns out that, because of its placement in the semester, they're doing two classes a week instead of three, more spread out. While this does mean I'm going an extra week, it also cuts my "days I have to get up early" down to two and allows me to still give Mom a break during the week. I also started my latest Discworld novel, since the two I ordered finally came yesterday. Going Postal is looking good so far -- Moist amuses me, Vetinari is in fine form, and we have a return of golems! It's been too long (to the point where it took me a moment to remember Dorfl's name from Feet of Clay). Good stuff, and I look forward to devouring it. :D

One downside -- I'm still working on catching up on all the internet I missed, which includes tumblr. Dunno if I'm actually going to RP tonight or declare a hiatus day, but I should at least catch up on the dashes, so, later!
