crossover_chickAnd I'm actually feeling quite Christmassy thanks to the Nostalgia Critic! I'm starting to think the season doesn't really begin for me until:
A) I reread "A Christmas Carol"
B) I watch the first of the Critic's episodes for this time of year (because he's always so enthusiastic) or
C) I listen to either the Trans-Siberian Orchestra or Straight No Chaser
Well, B)'s been checked off, so let's have a drabble!
Day Four:
“Look at all the decorations! Ponyville looks like something out of a Hearth’s Warming Eve postcard!”
“Yes, I think that’s Rarity’s doing,” Alice commented as she and Victor walked through the town square. “Spending one in Canterlot seems to have filled her head with ideas.”
“Good ones, I’d say,” Victor said, smiling at the large tree standing before the town hall. “Oh – this is going to be the nicest Hearth’s Warming Eve I’ve spent anywhere.”
“Just because of the decorations?” Alice joked.
Victor turned the smile on her. “No – mostly because of the company,” he whispered, and kissed her cheek.
Yes, it's obvious on what day of the week I wrote this one, isn't it? :P (Incidentally, my thoughts on "Castlemania" -- guessed it was Pinkie Pie the instant we saw the mysterious pony at the organ, found the plot amusing but predictable, found Twilight ignoring the noises in favor of OMG BOOKS totally in character but her not realizing Fluttershy should be around if Angel is a bit less so, diary so clearly shoehorned in to replace the letters it kind of hurts, Rarity was particularly hilarious this go-round.) You could consider it a kind of sequel to the my last visit to the Pony Verse on Hearth's Warming Eve: Blustery. The mention of Rarity spending the holiday in Canterlot is a reference to the original HWE episode of MLP:FIM. I imagine someone like Rarity who has a HWE Tree hat would definitely be all over decorating Ponyville appropriately for the season. And of course I couldn't resist the opportunity for a bit of Pony!Valice fluff. :P Because darn it, it's extra cute when they're ponies.
Pretty good day today -- got a good chunk of Chapter 22 of "Forgetting You" written, caught up on what else I'd missed from yesterday, got three hours of housesitting duty (which pays me back for my bus pass), and of course got into the Christmas spirit with the Nostalgia Critic. All that remains is to get on tumblr, which I shall do forthwith!
. . .Although perhaps I'll hunt down some Straight No Chaser first. :P
