crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)

Today's been another day of catch-up, but of a different kind. Specifically, I caught up on the vacuuming (I timed it for Wednesday since my activities/classes this week don't really allow for my usual two-a-week schedule), helped put away some of the laundry, did a round of housesitting for Mom (hey, extra cash), and made a new batch of muffins. I figured I'd get this sucker cranked out while I was waiting for said muffins to cool so I could put them away. After all, there's not a whole lot to report on beyond me also catching up on Disneycember, so I may as well give you your drabble now. And guess what? It's another blast from the past!

Day Eleven:
“Er. . .did they celebrate Christmas in the asylum?”
Doc blinked, then turned to look at Jennifer. “Why on earth do you ask?”
“Weird, sick curiosity,” Jennifer confessed. “Even my – home did little gift exchanges. Was it the same for you?”
“Hardly,” Doc snorted. “The most we got was a change in the menu and snow outside the window. Trust me, Christmases outside those hellholes are the ones worth having.”
“Yeah. . .I guess I shouldn’t be surprised there isn’t much competition for our first family Christmas.”
Doc smiled. “There wouldn’t be much competition for that even if I’d gotten a million dollars each year.”

-VD2: Wow. I'd forgotten how much my life sucked for a while.-
Well, it's been ages since we've visited the Night & Day Verse, isn't it? I figured, as long as I was bringing back my first vampire Doc for an encore, I should do my second as well. This would be set after the insanity that was "World of Darkness," of course, with the four vampires settling into a happy life. A conversation Butterfly Boy had with Alice about Christmas sparked the topic, as Alice confessed to Rutledge actually getting a Christmas tree. Both me and Victor were shocked, and it was on my mind when I was coming up with ideas. I think it worked out pretty well as a good contrast to their previous poor situations and their new good one. (In case you're wondering what Jennifer's referring to -- well, there was only one business I saw in Biffhorrific Hill Valley for women. . .) It's angsty in the sense that it brings up all the shit they had to go through in the past, but it has a sweet ending. And that's the important thing. :)

All right, time to dive into tumblr while I wait for Mom to appear and supper to arrive. Though I'm honestly wondering if I shouldn't just take my shower now. . .
