25 Days of Multiverse #17

crossover_chickEverything is rushed and no breaks can be taken -- though I will say I had a pretty good day, even if we had to deal with snow and freezing rain. My resume is looking very good right now. :) And hey, just one more class before I'm off two weeks for the holidays! Ahhh, precious sleep. . . For now, though, I gotta give you your drabble, then answer some tags, then answer some more tags and you know the drill:
Day Seventeen:
“Merry Christmas, Dr. Brown!”
“Oh – Merry Christmas, Miss Baines! How are you?”
“Fine,” Lorraine grinned. “I wanted to ask you – will Marty be back for the holiday? George and I would like to thank him again for setting us up.”
Oh damn. Doc had not expected to get that question so soon. “I’m afraid not – he’s spending it with his parents before his next posting,” he lied as smoothly as possible.
“Aw.” Lorraine sighed. “I guess I understand that – but I would really like to see him again one day.”
Doc allowed himself a smile. “Oh, I’m sure you will.”
Okay, doing something that's clearly PreTime and thus shared across multiple verses might be fudging things a little, but hey, that's still a definition of "multiverse." And I really wanted to do something with 1955!Doc and how he might handle the "Marty Question." Lorraine and George must really wonder sometimes what the hell ever happened to Calvin Martin Klein. Anyway, not much to say here beyond time travel laffs! Gotta love 'em.
All right, off to get to work on RPing!
