25 Days of Multiverse #19

crossover_chickLast day of workshop before the holiday break, w0000! It was a pretty low-key day -- just browsing around a few websites getting a few more tips on stuff you can look at, then more resume revising and cover letter building. I made myself a cover letter template, updated my resume on Indeed.com, did some job searching -- aaaand I might have taken a little time to look at FF.net once or twice. ^^; Sue me, it was quiet. At any rate, I am spared waking up at six in the morning for two weeks, yaaaay. And Christmas and my birthday are imminent, yaaaay. I still need to write some Christmas fics for people, though I've got four out of seven done (though I may write a bonus eighth drabble for another friend). Two were ultra-easy -- I can only hope the last three will come just as easy!
Speaking of fic, your drabble for the night:
Day Nineteen:
“Wow. Royal families don’t screw around with the Christmas decorations, do they?”
“According to Dad, we can’t afford to,” Jennifer said as the servants decorated the giant tree. “People like to see this sort of thing. Makes everything feel festive.”
“Well, it’s working,” Marty said, staring. “Wow. Mom and Dad would have thought this way–”
He cut off, grimacing. Jennifer took his hand. “I’m sorry, Marty. I wish I could have met them.”
“I wish you could have too.” He managed a smile for her. “But hey – I ain’t gonna complain about the first real Christmas I’ve had in two years.”
Hey, look, it's the Cinder-Marty Verse! Remember that? Would you believe it's got a recommendation on TV Tropes? Dead serious, somebody liked it enough to put it on BTTF's fic recs page. XD Anyway, I figured I might as well bring it back for the season. As usual, we've got kind of fluffy angst here.
-M2: No surprise, given that whole STORY was pretty much angst with a little fluff thrown in.-
This is very true. This is set between Marty finally getting found by Jennifer and being taken back to the palace, and Marty and Jennifer getting married. I figured Christmas in that castle would have to be big -- I was thinking stuff like the Rockefeller tree and stuff like that. Seamus and Maggie probably would consider it all over-the-top. But hey, like Marty says, no reason to be upset on his first real Christmas in so long. And even if it's a little bittersweet, there's still plenty of good memories to be made.
Okay, time to get to tumblr -- but first, I have to moisturize my hands, my knuckles are not doing well. :(
