Crossover Chick

I sent Jethro and Tempest to breed earlier today, figuring that no matter how the combinations worked out, I'd be getting something worthwhile -- either a Magnetic or a Steel to keep, or a Copper or a Mine to sell.

And then the incubation time said "LOL, how about you wait two days for an egg again?"

Well, actually, I'm waiting a hour under two days -- judging by the breed time, I'm getting a Silver dragon. Welp, looks like I'm building a Treasure habitat as well! At least it comes with a good reward for hatching it. Still -- why all the long breeding times here, DragonVale?

In other news, been getting mainly food and experience at the racetrack, with annoys me slightly -- I need cash, damn it! I went ahead and started the fifth island summoning process, so I'm down to about three and a half million, which SHOULD cover the cost of clearing it off, but extra money is always good. I did do something with all that food, though -- every one of my dragons is now level 10. Figured might as well and have a head start on the shrines I haven't yet built/unlocked. I still need to get a Light dragon too, but that can wait until I've gotten the Fifth Island and rearranged everybody. Gigs linked me to somebody's post on the wiki about ideal boost set-ups. It looks a bit out of date, but it's a start, at least. *nods*

Not much else to report -- seemed to take me way too long to wake up this morning. But it was still nice sleeping in my own bed. Ahhh, bliss. I'm also back in the RP game more or less -- so I should really get back to tumblr. After I harvest these pumpermelons, though. G'night all!

But it's been a slow, dull day thanks to lack of sleep. Things went a bit lopsided when it came to my housesitting duties -- broken chairlift woes for the elderly lady who lives there -- but things are back to normal now, so that's helpful. Still, it meant a lack of sleep for me and a case of heightened nerves, so there's not much to report for me today beyond me lazing around on TV Tropes.

I do have some updates from DragonVale, though -- mainly, that I've gone ahead and rearranged my islands in a big way. Everyone, I give you, the Tourist Trap:

As for new dragons, I've added:
-->A Storm, Tempest
-->A Copper, Penny
-->A Blazing, Phoenix
And I've got a Scoria incubating after a long breed time. I've also got an Obsidian to sell, and I've got Quartz and Misty making something -- not sure what yet. We'll find out later. And hopefully by then I'll have this park sorted.

Right now, though, I should probably get a bit of sleep -- later all!

No, seriously, today is Appreciate a Dragon Day. In honor of the day, I threw Moonlight into dear_mun. Fire lizards may not exactly be "dragons," but they're close enough. And I'm even more in love with them now that I've read Dragonsong and most of Dragonsinger. Seriously, seeing them with Menolly and Robinton and the rest. . .I want one for real more than ever. *whines*

On an interesting note, I found the template that I believe nestoflitts uses for their fire lizards: Pixel Hatchling Builders It's intended for dragon hatchlings, I believe, but it's just about perfect for fire lizards. I've played around with it, making little flitts:

There's only one problem with this -- they're all gold.

And the flitt I'd be making new poses for is silver.

Anyone know a quick way to recolor these? Moose, any ideas?

Anyway, in my other dragon land, I've made Level 16, brought a Moss into the world (I've named him Maurice, and he's very cute), I'm incubating a River (which I plan to name Menolly, despite the dragon being full of Dr. Who references -- the darn things are musical, what else can I do?), and I'm building an Air habitat for the later occupancy of an Air dragon. And hey, Ael -- I saw your park today! :D I hit "visit random park," and yours was the one I visited! Twice! Thanks for the party-hat cash, you helped fund some blushroom growth. :P I also built the racetrack and did the tutorial race, which got me three gems, and a fourth after I tweeted about it. w00 :D I'll probably race properly later, once I have a bit of a money cushion (you gotta pay to race). Still, I'm feeling pretty good about my park right now -- things are happening, I'm making plans for the future, I should have a good thing going here. It's just a matter of figuring out how best to fit everything and how to afford it all.

Anyway -- I've been watching DragonVale videos, and it seems a good idea to keep doing that. Go appreciate a dragon, everybody!

So, I hatched my latest egg last night.

I did NOT get an Obsidian dragon.

I got THIS adorable motherfucker instead.

That's right, I scored me one of the limiteds! And seriously, this thing is SOOOO CUTE :D And it ricochets around the habitat like it's on a permanent caffeine high. XD I've named him "Bouncy."

Currently Deepfyre and Spring (Lava and Plant) are breeding -- we'll see what results from that!
