crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
11:50 -- Went up to catch the bus. It's pretty warm, so I'm hoping it comes fast. It's supposed to be there at noon.
12:00 -- No bus. Kind of hot, I get annoyed. Mom and I agree to wait 15 minutes, then abandon the idea and go to Westerly for my Sims game.
12:10 -- Bus arrives. We board, I pull out The Princess Bride, we head out. Along the way, we stop at URI so a truckload of people can get on.
1:15 -- We arrive in Providence. I decide The Princess Bride is a hell of a good book. Mom and I walk over to Providence Place Mall.
1:20-2:35 -- Mall roaming. Providence Place is FRICKING HUGE. I grab a map, and we find our way to EB Games. On the way, though, we pass a Hot Topic. Having heard amusing things about these stores from all my time spent on the HMS STFU and other sporking sites, I have to go in. It does NOT disappoint -- I swear to God, I think I saw an actual fake-leather cheerleading outfit. (At least, it looked like a cheerleader's dress!) They had some cool Harry Potter stuff, though, and I ended up buying a novelty wand pen and a T-Shirt with the Hogwarts crest.
EB Games is next -- the place is smaller than a shoebox, but busy as anything. We locate the game, but not the guidebook. Well, I can live without the Prima Guide, so we pay for it and start walking around. I want to see about a new nightgown, so we head over to Macy's -- but not before stopping at the Ben&Jerry's counter. The line's moving too fast for me to really make up my mind, so I just go for something good I see on the wall -- a big-ass waffle cone with two flavors of ice cream. Chocolate Therapy and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough = much deliciousness. Though I managed to drip it on myself near the end (my cone had a hole in the bottom).
Macy's didn't yield a nightgown -- Mom insisted on looking through the clearance racks only, and there was nothing good there. Ah well. We mall-crawl for a bit, then head to Borders to see if they have the Prima Guide.
Borders doesn't (it's a reserve item, WTF?), so I browse the humor section. Score, two new books about idiots by a favorite author of mine, Leland Gregory. I buy those, and we head back to the bus stop.
2:55 -- Bus supposed to arrive, and this one actually does. After a quick shift change for the drivers, we board. I pull out The Princess Bride again for more Goldman goodness. Mom sees me reading and offers to get the movie via our library -- I'm up for it!
3:55: Back home, we hop out of the bus near our house and walk home. Total haul: One T-Shirt, one novelty pen, two new books, one Sims expansion pack.
-RPD: And no problems installing -- I know how you sweat about that.-
Heh, yeah. So far so good.
Doing The Sims Thing )
Okay, I have some fanfic to take care of -- Victor has an update owed him, and I should work more on my threatening-not-to-be-a-drabbles88. And I want to keep looking at Sims journals for good Bon Voyage stuff. Maybe it'll inspire me to get my Sims on vacation faster.
-HD: Just remember to buy one of our Simselves a tea set.-
LoL, I think I can manage THAT.
