crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

11:50 -- Went up to catch the bus. It's pretty warm, so I'm hoping it comes fast. It's supposed to be there at noon.
12:00 -- No bus. Kind of hot, I get annoyed. Mom and I agree to wait 15 minutes, then abandon the idea and go to Westerly for my Sims game.
12:10 -- Bus arrives. We board, I pull out The Princess Bride, we head out. Along the way, we stop at URI so a truckload of people can get on.
1:15 -- We arrive in Providence. I decide The Princess Bride is a hell of a good book. Mom and I walk over to Providence Place Mall.
1:20-2:35 -- Mall roaming. Providence Place is FRICKING HUGE. I grab a map, and we find our way to EB Games. On the way, though, we pass a Hot Topic. Having heard amusing things about these stores from all my time spent on the HMS STFU and other sporking sites, I have to go in. It does NOT disappoint -- I swear to God, I think I saw an actual fake-leather cheerleading outfit. (At least, it looked like a cheerleader's dress!) They had some cool Harry Potter stuff, though, and I ended up buying a novelty wand pen and a T-Shirt with the Hogwarts crest.
EB Games is next -- the place is smaller than a shoebox, but busy as anything. We locate the game, but not the guidebook. Well, I can live without the Prima Guide, so we pay for it and start walking around. I want to see about a new nightgown, so we head over to Macy's -- but not before stopping at the Ben&Jerry's counter. The line's moving too fast for me to really make up my mind, so I just go for something good I see on the wall -- a big-ass waffle cone with two flavors of ice cream. Chocolate Therapy and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough = much deliciousness. Though I managed to drip it on myself near the end (my cone had a hole in the bottom).
Macy's didn't yield a nightgown -- Mom insisted on looking through the clearance racks only, and there was nothing good there. Ah well. We mall-crawl for a bit, then head to Borders to see if they have the Prima Guide.
Borders doesn't (it's a reserve item, WTF?), so I browse the humor section. Score, two new books about idiots by a favorite author of mine, Leland Gregory. I buy those, and we head back to the bus stop.
2:55 -- Bus supposed to arrive, and this one actually does. After a quick shift change for the drivers, we board. I pull out The Princess Bride again for more Goldman goodness. Mom sees me reading and offers to get the movie via our library -- I'm up for it!
3:55: Back home, we hop out of the bus near our house and walk home. Total haul: One T-Shirt, one novelty pen, two new books, one Sims expansion pack.
-RPD: And no problems installing -- I know how you sweat about that.-
Heh, yeah. So far so good.

Since it was my first time playing, I took out my hacks (will be updating those tomorrow) and left custom content disabled. (Well, what the GAME sees as custom content -- my clothes and stuff never disappear). I pop into Eureka, associate the vacation neighborhoods, and explore Twikki Island a bit. It looks really interesting -- I think my Sims are gonna like it.
-HD: If they ever get there.-
*thwaps with his own hat* Anyway, I also went into CAS and checked out some new clothing and the jewelry -- the watches look nice, you'll be glad to know Docs.
-D: *grin* Wonderful.-
I also popped the Bon Voyage General Store community lot into the Eureka main hood -- here it is, with a little dressing up from yours truly (mostly decorative, the walls were kind of plain):

-RPD: *pause* The WALLS?-
I DO occasionally play with walls up!
-HD: *snickersnicker*-
Now, my original plan was to drop in on Emma Heterobach and let her do the honors of breaking in the pack. But when I get to her dorm, I see a flashing blue computer on her desk. "WTF, I don't -- oh. Moose's typewriter."
Not wanting to accidentally get a shot of it (though maybe I should have, it looked kind of cool), I leave Emma alone for the nonce and decide on somebody else. Hello Strangetown, hello Ariana!
I didn't send her on vacation -- shut up, HatterDoc -- but it was good to see her again. George was nice enough to play with the birdie spring again for me.

Kitten and Mistress still have a wonderful relationship.

Having a night job, Ariana lounges around the house, swimming in her miniscule pool and calling friends. I took off her downloaded watch in preperation for a EP one. Just gotta set up a jewerly stand in a store.

-M: Wait, if you have custom content watches, what do you need the Maxis ones for?-
Simple -- the custom content ones only work on girls for some insane reason. I could never get them to show up on a guy.
-J: That's weird.-
*shrug*
Not having much Bon Voyage stuff to do, I make Ari get used to Seasons instead and plant tomatoes.

She does do some Bon Voyage stuff, though -- I make her use her little camera to take a picture of herself.

She also digs for treasure in a hole one of those nasty wolves left. She finds a rock. (Skippy the Stone, the game calls it.)

-VuM: *sarcastically* Brilliant haul.-
I know -- she even did one of those "look at the camera" moments after digging it up, as if to say, "Can you believe it?"
Ari napped for most of the afternoon, then went to work that night. She made Projectionist, nice. She also saw her first rain shower, and was quite impressed.

So, really, more of a Seasons update than a Bon Voyage one. Then again, Strangetown has gotten next to no love with my schedule and energy levels being the way they are, so the residents probably are still in awe of Seasons.
-VD: Plan on sending anyone on a vacation soon?-
Ye Gods, I'd like to, but my lovely anal nature is annoying me on that front. Though if I could get over that, I might send Eureka's Emmett on a quick getaway. Maybe he'd have more luck finding a honey on vacation.
-J2: *playfully* From what I hear, he has PLENTY of luck already.-
-VD: Et tu, Jennifer?-
LoL -- though that reminds me, I want to change his turn-ons. I'm keeping the brown hair, but I want his secondary to be the high Logic one. Can't hurt, right?
-VD2: By all means, try it. Just don't say anything more about Garret.-
But it's funny! Even the men love you!

Okay, I have some fanfic to take care of -- Victor has an update owed him, and I should work more on my threatening-not-to-be-a-drabbles88. And I want to keep looking at Sims journals for good Bon Voyage stuff. Maybe it'll inspire me to get my Sims on vacation faster.
-HD: Just remember to buy one of our Simselves a tea set.-
LoL, I think I can manage THAT.
