You all may have previously heard me complain about the rarity of the Corpse Bride Series 1 Mini-figure sets. I'd gotten the Series 2 pack as a Christmas/birthday gift (I don't remember which, now) a little while back, and after learning that there were three others in the first run, I decided I wanted to try and get them all. I soon learned these things were ultra-rare, so I started to despair of ever getting some.

Then, late last month, I discover someone selling the Land of the Living: Van Dort set on eBay. So I snap that up (and get a Victor plushie shortly after to boot).

Then, about a week after that arrives, I find somebody else selling the Land of the Living: Everglot set. That just arrived today. (I have pictures for later.)

Now, I just went to eBay, left positive feedback to the previous seller, then checked out the latest round of CB merchandise up for bidding.

Same guy now has a Land of the Dead set up for auction.

Which means, if I get it, I'm going to have gotten all three sets I was missing in just over a month. Plus a Victor plushie. Stuff I NEVER thought I was going to get.

This may mean I've jinxed myself, but -- damn! What are the odds??

I did say I had them in my previous entry. :p

Group shot of the figures. The Everglot set contains Maudeline, Finis, and Victoria Everglot (natch), and our villain, Barkis Bittern.

I also had an interesting revelation while getting these figures -- of all the characters, Victoria's the only one to undergo full and significant costume changes. We see her first in her underthings, then in her red dress, and finally in her wedding garb. Everyone else comes pre-dressed and never changes. The most are minor alterations, such as Victor's suit getting ripped and Emily temporarily discarding her veil. Now I'm wondering -- there were about 13, 14 puppets made for each of the lead three. How many were made of each costume variation? How many Wedding!Victorias to Normal!Victorias, for example, or Tidy!Victors to Disheveled!Victors? Curious fan is curious.
