Been a nice, low-key day for the most part -- low-key and sugary. XD Chocolate chip pancakes with caramel sauce for breakfast, glazed carrots and ham for lunch, a couple of Snickers mini-bites and a chocolate crinkle cookie as a snack, and a chocolate ice cream sandwich for dessert. Tis the season, I suppose~ Though it didn't feel like the season -- in the 60s again today! I took a walk this morning, and I had my window open most of the day! We only tied the old record for warmth, but it sure felt like we beat it. This is sadly the last hurrah, as the temperature is crashing to more normal for December levels by next week, but I'll take it while it lasts.
Most of my day was spent bumming around online, catching up on various webcomics and such and generally just messing about. I watched Linkara's old riff on the first sound version of A Christmas Carol ever produced, called Scrooge -- very funny. (They didn't even have a proper ghost for Jacob Marley -- just his voice!) General response to my fic gifts has been very positive (yaaaay), and the Victors are having nice Christmases on their tumblrs (for the most part -- Forgotten Vows got complained at for one of his presents by the partner of the guy who more or less caused his piano to get blown up (long story that centers around a Looney Tunes gag involving a particular song and a bomb going off on a certain note), so he's feeling a little sour about that). The one annoying note was when I went to play Sims after updating one of my important mods yet again -- only to discover the mod wasn't working. I'm wondering now if it has anything to do with me not having the latest expansion pack. . .I plan to fiddle around with it a bit tomorrow, since I still have the old version of the mod and can reinstall that one if necessary. Instead of stressing myself out over it today, I went ahead and played BTTF: The Game instead. We're in the middle of getting Emmett and Edna broken up -- working on getting all the stuff for Trixie's plan and setting Emmett up for slobbery and moral degeneracy. Not quite looking forward to ruining his life, but when I think about the alternatives. . .
As for the day's haul, my be was the major gift of the season, so I just had a stocking of small stuff from Mom and Dad, and two gifts from my aunt, uncle, and cousins next door. Nice gifts, though:
-->Two new pairs of soft bed socks
-->Two things of Icebreakers mints
-->A $25 Newbury's gift card
-->Two boxes of Ferrero Focher candy (Mom got a buy one get one free deal :D)
-->A big soft purple blanket
-->Two Discworld books -- which are unfortunately ones I already own ^^; Mom misinterpreted my wish list (she thought the book I wanted was one I already had and told my aunt and uncle to get the next two in line -- the book I want is one of the Young Adult ones, so while it was written before the two I just got copies of, I'm only reading it now because I wanted to finish the Adult series first. They're going to get it fixed, though)
So yeah, that was good. Now we just have a fairly normal Saturday, and then -- birthday time! And for the first time in what feels like a million years, we'll be celebrating my birthday ON MY BIRTHDAY. Mom has the afternoon off so we'll be going to Dave & Buster's together, as has become tradition. w000~
Right now, though, I've got tumblr stuff to keep up on (caught up with all DW stuff, at least), so I'd better hop to it. Later, and Happy Holidays!
