Got Past That Tricky Bit In Portal
Mar. 24th, 2016 10:53 pmYup, remember how I was stuck in Chamber 18 last week? Well, I looked up a couple of videos, and it turned out that it was one of those "split-second timing" things -- you had to set up some portals to move the energy pellet bouncing around the room into the right position, then set up another pair of portals to press a button to open the box the receiver was inside. I managed it after a few failed attempts, and got through the rest of the test on my own. Though not without some difficulty -- the very last part of it involves basically a continual bouncing up and down through various portals onto higher and higher platforms. And let me tell you, the changes in height and position and suchlike can get pretty damn dizzying! But I made it through that and Chamber 19 -- which means I'm currently bumming around the innards of Aperture, working my way to the final boss fight. I look forward to possibly dying multiple times against GLaDOS and her rockets. :P
Other notes of the day:
-->Legendary Egg Hunt is definitely in full swing in DragonVale now -- Easter weekend means extra eggs to find in the park. Still trying to breed that damn Fifth Monolith pedestal, and not having much luck. . .might be easier to just buy the dratted thing at this point.
-->Started on Chapter 10 of "Remembering You" -- Victor and Alice are having a nap together, and Alice is in Wonderland, getting ready to visit the Queen of Hearts after checking in with the Chess royalty. In the home stretch for this story, yaaay :D
-->Watched the third part of "Blue Skying," about Blue Beetle Jaime and his battle to do good. From what I can see, he was a good kid and a good superhero. And I like the ultimate backstory for the Beetle itself -- it's pretty clever. Nicely done, DC. . .too bad you rebooted everything. In fact, next week's episode is all about New 52's BB, and Linkara seems just thrilled. I look forward to epic ranting.
-->Spent some time on QI's TV Tropes page -- the Crowning Moment of Funny page is very well done. :) Seriously, if you guys can find the episodes, I would strongly recommend watching this show. It's amazing and funny and even a little educational.
-->Doing the RP round-up now -- and to my shock, IT'S DEAD QUIET ON BUTTERFLY BOY. O.o Dunno what happened, but as I have DW tags to catch up with as well, I should probably just take it. Forgotten has got a decent amount of stuff going on, but currently his threads are all short-form (as in, just a couple of sentences per reply), so that won't be so hard to keep up with.
And that's life as it stands right now! Time to get on those actual replies -- night all!
