crossover_chick: Victor on the ground with one hand up with the text "Nooo! Anything but the fangirls!" (CB: save Victor from the fangirls!)
As in, we watched Independence Day tonight! Admittedly, we probably should have waited a week, but hey. It's cliche-ridden and all "America Saves The Day," but since I went into it expecting nothing more than a goofy action flick, I was actually quite satisfied. If you like Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum, or Bill Pullman, you could do a lot worse. And it helps that the movie isn't afraid to take the piss out of itself every so often (best example: the dramatic launch scene being derailed thanks to the ship accidentally being in reverse). Good, silly stuff. Hear the sequel that came out recently is getting bad reviews, but so did the first one, so -- I dunno. We'll see if we go see it.

Not much else to say -- work wasn't too awful, and the weather was lovely. I'm doing what I generally do after I experience something I enjoy -- devouring the TV Tropes page. XD Though I will have to schedule a quick break or two to get up my queued replies for Butterfly Boy and the like. . .

. . .I just learned the President's daughter in this film is played by the younger version of the actress who plays Roxy, the fourth evil ex, in Scott Pilgrim Vs The World. O.o That seems as good a note as any to close this on, I guess. Night!
