crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Poured for a good portion of the morning, and then just regular rained for most of the rest of the day -- only started clearing up properly around five or so. Good thing I didn't have anywhere to be. At least all our plants enjoyed it -- our lawn's been looking rather thirsty lately, even with Dad watering everything regularly. I can take the rain if it keeps everything a healthy green. And keeps the temperature down, though given that the next couple of days are forecast to be in the 90s. . .

Pretty low-key day, honestly -- did the usual morning cleaning, had lunch with the parents, then hopped online. Did some more on "The Technicolor Phase," editing the bit where Victoria finds out about Emily. Took longer than expected, mostly because I found a clip of the canon encounter and kept consulting it to make my version a little more accurate. Didn't even get through the whole thing after about an hour of writing. ^^; Tempted to finish it up tomorrow -- already know I'm going to need some extra time with "Fixing You" Chapter 3 because of its length, so I don't need to worry about getting that up this Friday. Honestly, I think I'm just gonna stick to an "every other week" schedule for "Fixing You" anyway -- it's a little easier, and gives me breathing room for the longer chapters. We'll see what happens as time goes on, of course, but for now that sounds good.

Anyway, after finishing up my writing, I got on Steam for a round of Minerva's Den -- still hate Houdini Splicers, still think Insect Swarm is hilariously overpowered. :) I've gotten the signal beacon hacked, and am currently wandering around Climate Control looking for a way to warm up the place, since the main villain of the piece is trying to prevent me reaching the Thinker by throwing the coolant system into overdrive. Ice everywhere -- and me without an Incinerate plasmid! Fortunately I have a thermal laser, but I've heard that Incinerate (level 2, no less -- built-in firebomb ability) is somewhere around the level, and I'm not doing the plot until I get it. :p Killed plenty of Wintry Houdini splicers, though. Bastards.

After that was videos -- a couple from the OXBox/OXTra teams about video game noises that cause the fear (like Silent Hill radio static) and ways to make your own fun in games (like emptying the protagonist's apartment in Prey and cramming all his stuff in a nearby elevator just to see if you can make it all fit XD); and Helloween's final set of Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel! As usual, the plot is a mess of different little conspiracies that show just how corrupt and awful the American government is. Also as usual, Snake proves very competent at blowing up nuclear robots and riding away into the sunset with lovely young ladies. :p Good stuff, especially for a GameBoy game -- Helloween thought so too. And I'll miss the absolutely hilarious variety of accents he gave everyone over the course of the game. XD (Hey, another way to make your own fun!)

And now, I'm doing the RP thing while keeping up with some messages on the interwebs -- or trying to anyway. Can be hard to bounce between two tumblrs, especially when one's busy. . .but hey, I can only do the best I can. *nods* Back to the grind -- night everyone!
